I have had the pleasure to travel with Tansafari-Tours in January 2021. We (my wife and my four children) spent one week in Tanzania and it was one of our best holidays ever.
We were warmly greeted by Jonas (our guide) at the airport and spent the first day in Arusha. We visited the little Arusha National Park and the Tengeru Cultural Project, the latter of which was especially interesting for our kids as they could brew their own coffee.
Then we drove to Tarangire National Park. We were especially impressed by thousands of elephants walking really close to our car! Next on our list was Ngorongoro Crater and the Southern Part of the Serengeti.
We witnessed the migration of wildebeests and zebras and Jonas told us, that we were especially lucky to travel to Tanzania at a time, where millions of baby zebras and wildebeests are born. But not only was the wildlife impressive, but also the landscape. Honestly, we have never seen such a green landscape, and the wide grassy plain was covered by thousands of animals!
We really want to thank Jonas for this incredible trip! He is so friendly and curteous, our kids loved him because he played and laughed with them. Furthermore, he was able to give us so many insights into the culture, politics and history of Tanzania and his knowledge about the wildlife was stunning! The trip in general was very well planned, the accommodation were superb and little amenities rounded this trip off!
We felt safe and secure at every time during the trip and we were extremely well looked after, every wish of us was fulfilled!
Thank you Tansafari-Tours, we can't wait to travel with you again!

Traveling with 2 friends in Tanzania was a dream come true!! Jonas Nzuna, owner of Tansafri Tours, planned, orchestrated and led our adventure. And what an adventure it was!! Jonas's knowledge of the country, its cultures, history and wildlife was amazing and had us continually learning. We visited Arusha National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, the Serengeti, Leakey Camp and Oldupai Gorge. To see elephants walking through the bush, lions sleeping in the shade of a tree , wildebeest moving in huge numbers across the plains, cheetahs lounging on tree branches, and hippos hiding in the watering holes, and birds of all sizes and colors was amazing to say the least!! And Jonas had us continually laughing as his humor was as infectious as his knowledge! Accommodations were wonderful, clean and safe, especially our beautiful tent on the Serengeti where you could hear the calls of many animals into the night and early morning. Jonas also arranged for us to visit a Masai village and a Hadzabe tribe, who continue to live as hunter-gatherers. What a priviledge to be welcomed by each of these groups. The women of the Hadzabe group brought us into one of their huts, sat us down and had us singing/hummimg along with them as they wrapped their arms around us in sisterhood!!
Tansafari opens this amazing world to you with knowledge, thoughtfulness, and safety. It is personal for Jonas and his team that those who have the priveldge of traveling with them, leave with a fuller undersatnding of this amazing world of wildlife and the people who live near them.

My wife and I were in Moshi for a work project in February and a friend who lives there introduced us to her friend Jonas Nzuna, owner of Tansafari Tours, with whom she'd traveled before. Jonas plotted a fantastic 10-day safari for us and the following week we set out with Bariki Mseli, a guide without peer. His knowledge of wildlife and fauna was superb, as was his driving. My wife, prone to car sickness, didn't get queasy once, no mean feat when the roads were rough. Bariki is a complete gentleman--ever thoughtful, kind, smart, a pleasure to travel with. We visited Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, bushmen, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti, including Leakey Camp, Oldupai Gorge and the strange phenomenon of Shifting Sands. Lodging choices made by Jonas were great. We came away thoroughly enriched and plan to return in 2022 to explore more of Tanzania with Bariki and Jonas and Tansafari.

Our group of 4 just came back from a fantastic safari arranged by Jonas of Tan Safari Tours. We were originally supposed to travel in 2020 but had to move it to 2021 due to the pandemic. We had the typical itinerary described by the other reviews but what was outstanding was Jonas and his staff. He was flexible with our scheduling, time frame etc. The 8 day safari was spectacular. Every place we stayed at was unique and the food provided was noting to complain about. Our guide, Emanuel, was knowledgeable, patient and had great eyes. He spotted things that seemed impossible to see!! I also had a chance to observe other guides and I I do not exaggerate when I say ours seemed the best - calm, knowledgeable, patient and solved/resolved any issues we had which we really did not. Both Jonas and Emanuel went out of their way to acommodate us. I would highly recommend Jonas and Tan Safari Tours.

Everything was organized perfectly! Out guide was amazing. We visited Lake Manyara NP, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti NP, along with visiting several tribes. Jonas was in constant communication with our guide to make sure everything was perfect. We added an activity which he took care no problem. Would recommend to anyone wanting a personalized and amazing safari!

Jonas and Billie exceeded our expectations in planning an unforgettable 6-day safari adventure for our family of 11. They were incredibly responsive, committed, and accommodating from start to finish.

Our vegetarian group, ranging from 20 to 81 years old, enjoyed a tailored itinerary showcasing Tanzania's diverse landscapes: Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Ndutu Plains, Hot air Balloon and Serengeti National Park. Each accommodation was uniquely charming, capturing the essence of its surroundings.

Our exceptional guides, Ukadi and Alfred, made the experience shine with their vast knowledge, impressive animal-spotting skills, and thoughtful consideration. Their expertise led to incredible wildlife sightings, making every moment special.

I highly recommend Jonas and his dedicated team for their kindness, expertise, and ability to make every aspect of the trip enjoyable and stress-free. We're forever grateful for this incredible experience! Hakuna Matata!!"

We went as a "mature" group of old friends from Maine. Only 3 canes needed out of the 8. Jonas really spent time with us designing a wonderful, customized itinerary. He couldn't have been more helpful and patient. Once we arrived every lodging was comfortable often with remarkable gardens or in the case of the tent camp with friendly visitng elephants! We had two drivers/tour guides for the 8 of us : Alfred and Dennis, both of whom were not only knowledgeable but remarkable drivers in some pretty tough terrain. Of course they made sure that we saw every animal we hoped to see but many others as well especially the amazing birds of Tanzania. The museum at the Oldevai Gorge was fascinating and we lucked out that our guide ,Susan, was a world expert on early man, The last 3 days in Zanzibar was icing on the cake after the amazing safari. Hats off to Jonas and his great team!

Jonas and Billie were patient and did everything possible to ensure all our requests were met and our trip was amazing. We had amazing guides throughout our different activities. Mike was our guide for our safari in Tarangire National Park and was knowledgeable about the animals and communicated with the other drivers to ensure we saw as many animals as possible.
We stayed in two hotels Mount Meru and Forest Hill and they were both lovely.
We transferred to Zanzibar and while near Stone Town we stayed in Tembo House. Centrally located to several activities. The hotel is rustic with lovely staff. The food is good but the dining experience is not so great as there is no plan for the outdoor dining experience to minimize the insects, cats and birds you end up fighting for your food. The rooms have the smell of mold and there are several spider sacks in the common areas.
I mentioned these concerns to Billie. She conveyed the concerns and the manager made it a point to apologize personally for the experience.
We went to Prison Island, snorkeling and did a walking tour with RakibZanzibarTourGuide who was a pleasure to spend time with. He was very knowledgeable and kept the energy high. He took us to a spice farm where we were shown the spices used in perfumes and soaps and tasted some of the most amazing fruits. We even tried durian.
Our final few days were spent at the Melia Zanzibar. The resort is all inclusive and was beyond beautiful. The staff extremely attentive and friendly. The meals were delicious and no matter where you dined you had a beautiful view. We made reservations at The Jetty restaurant one night and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere out on the water.

Jonas and Billie went above and beyond to ensure that every experience and all accommodations were not only a great experience but something and somewhere we’d want to return to and rave about to others.

I would gladly recommend Tansafari Tours and look forward to another adventure with them in the future

I spent three weeks in Tanzania and loved everything about this beautiful country. The culture, food, landscapes, safaris and local people were amazing!.
Jonas the Owner/Director and Billie the Operations Manager helped me to organize the Kilimanjaro Trekking Tour in February 2024. I chose the 7 days Machame Route which had breathtaking landscapes and magical views.
If you are thinking of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, this is the Tour company you need to use, as the Guide, Assistant Guide and Staff made this dream possible.
I would highly recommend this company to everyone who wants to visit Tanzania, Jonas, Billie and the Trekking Staff exceeded all my expectations.

What a truly amazing week. From pick up to drop off we were looked after like never before. Denis our guide was so knowledgeable, worked incredibly hard to accommodate our needs (our blind father and wheelchair bound brother), and took us to find almost every animal you could imagine; elephants, cheetahs, lions, leopard and rhinos to name the highlights). We would highly recommend the balloon trip, well worth the cost, and utterly spectacular. Off season was brilliant as far less busy and the landscape was green! Many thanks to Dennis, Jonas and the team at Tans Safari.
