We drove into the park from the southeast entrance and the landscape changed almost immediately. We found ourselves in a heavily forested section and had wildlife all around us. From baboon's to elephants the forest just revealed them. After the forest we came to a flat plane area where we saw giraffe, hippos, storks, flamingos and much more. This is... More

This national park is quite different from other park in that this one is full of vegetation. Other ones are wide open fields. This means it is very hard to spot animals. Baboons are abundant in this park if you like them. The blue monkey is cute. The advertised lion on tree no longer exists according to the guides. You... More

We spent most of a day at Lake Manyara. Unfortunately we did not see many animals: a few baboons, some monkeys, a few zebra, more wildebeast, and a few flamingos. THe hippo pool was closed, and unfortunately, we did not see the famous tree-climbing lions. In fact we didn't see a single lion. I would not return to Lake Manyara,... More

It is true that one does not always see alot of game in this park, but, the game is all there, I can assure you! There have been times when we saw hardly anything and then , other times we saw alot more , including the famous lions up in the trees! In February when we were there I was... More

We have visited this park on and off for the last 45 years. This return trip is our last. Very few animals visible. Your time is better spent at Tarangire National Park.

This is where you are supposed to see tree climbing lions... I suspect very few people have witnessed this phenomenon, at least on a day trip. You can expect to see buffalo, elephants, giraffes, deer and baboons, and various birds by the lake such as storks, geese and pelicans. However it will difficult to see lions perched on trees because... More

On our way from Tarangire to Ngorongoro and Serengeti we had a short visit in the park. It is very nice, but no comparison to the other 3.

This national park is very different from few other national parks in Tanzania, This park is situated besides a huge lake - Manyara. This is a salt water lake. It is very big - but very shallow! It is said that you can almost walk across to other shore. the lake covers almost 75% of this national park and the... More
