A truly amazing company. From initial contact, right through a fantastic holiday to even checking we’d got home safely, we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, knowledgeable and hard working guide and chef.
Charles (owner) really listened to what we wanted from our trip and happily tweaked our itinerary until he created the perfect trip for us, even meeting us on our first day and part way through our trip to ensure he gave us the best possible trip.
Our guide Ibrahim was awesome, so knowledgeable, patient, kind and open in showing us his country and culture. Omar, our chef, has put our own cooking to shame and we are in awe of the meals he created in a camp kitchen. They were both so helpful and fun to spend time with.
We saw loads of wildlife including the big 5. Tarangire NP was a great start to the trip, so many elephant, along with a leopard! We also did a walking safari with a NP ranger which let us see all sorts of details up close. Lake Maynara NP was a great contrast with tropical jungle and hundreds of baboon and blue monkeys. The Serengeti was full of wildlife, loads of lions, another leopard and a cheetah with cubs on a kill. Not to mention all the antelope, giraffe and zebra ….and different kinds of birds. The day in the Ngorogoro crater was good too, but at this time of year does not have a as high a concentration of animals as in the wet season, but we loved seeing the flamingo and also watched a serval.
We really enjoyed visiting different tribes and learning about their way of life - including going early morning hunting with the Hadzabe. (Genuine non commercialised experiences.)
Next we visited Mkomazi NP a hidden gem with black rhino and wild dog breeding programmes. We almost had the park to ourselves - so much quieter than the others. Giraffe and elephant were round every corner and the mountain backdrop added to the remoteness.
Magoroto Forest Estate was our next stop high in the mountains. The drive to get there was a real adventure and we wondered what could be at the end of the road - but the place was incredible. A beautiful lake set amongst tropical jungle. We swam and fished and walked to the look out. It would be a great place to stay and relax if you wanted to chill out for a few days.
At the end of our trip we had a couple of days at the beach near Pangani. We were camping next to green turtle nests! The beaches were near empty and the snorkelling was incredible.
Camping was a great way to explore Tanzania and get close to the wildlife. At one point we couldn’t drive back into our campsite as a herd of elephant were wandering through!
Ibrahim and Omar took great care of us during the whole trip and we felt really safe and well looked after. We would highly recommend this company for a great family trip and would happily use them again.
