We had a private safari tour in national parks Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The organisation of the tour as well as the tour itself was smooth, the staff was friendly and flexible. Our tourguide Emmanuel had a lot of knowledge about the nature and we had a very good time - most importantly, we saw many animals (including the Big 5). It was a lifetime experience! We recommend Peace Matunda Tours due to their professionalism and reliability. Moreover, part of the price goes to support schools and education, what we really liked about the company.

Our family stayed at PeaceMatunda orphanage for 2 days before going for the ascension of Mt.Meru. Kids were just amazing and Kaaya gave us the opportunity to exchange with kids during school, lunch, after school activities and dinner. What a great immersion experience! After, we left for the 3 days hiking tour with our guides Abdul and Lema that guided us through this demanding trek but so rewarding when we reached the summit at sunrise with the incredible view on the Kilimanjaro. Thanks to the entire crew who made this experience fantastic!

We went on a private 5 day 4 night Safari with Peace Matunda. The safari was incredible. Joshua was our very knowledgeable and patient guide, who is very passionate about wildlife and nature. He was excellent at spotting animals, and was saw all the Big 5 (including a black rhino which was a big surprise to all of us!). Having a private safari was great as we could follow our interests and set our itinerary. Kitoi was an excellent chef and we were full after every meal. Adam also helped with putting up the tents and sharing knowledge and information about the parks. The tents were very comfortable, with beds that were much appreciated in the cooler Ngorongoro crater (make sure to wrap up warm here)! We had the best time and would recommend Peace Matunda to anyone looking for a Safari experience that also gives back to the community! The tips to staff are extra to the Safari cost, which seems typical looking at some other sites. Kaaya and everyone at Peace Matunda were also very helpful with helping us with buying bus tickets for our next destination and helping us with our Tanzanian sim card! Definitely book with Peace Matunda!

Asante Sana Peace Matunda :)

In a group of 3 we chose Peace Matunda Tours for a 5 days/ 4 nights Safari Tour through Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Krater and Conservation area.
Looking back we could have not imagined our Safari Tour without our great guide Harry and our fantastic cook Damian.
During the days Harry brought us very close to the wildlife found in all the National Parks and was able to tell us a lot about all the different animals as well as general information about Tanzania, the culture and nature.
In between we were served delicious and varied meals by Damian.
We spent the nights on different campsites along the National Parks in comfortable field beds and not too small tents.

We recommend Peace Matunda Tours to everyone who is looking for an adventurous, wonderful Safari and also wants to support Peace Matunda School and Orphanage.

Thank you to Peace Matunda, Harry and Damian for an unforgettable experience in the heart of Tanzania!
We will definitely come back!

We spent three days at Peace Matunda where we stayed two nights at the orphanage and visited waterfalls, villages and the local market during the day. The children at Peace Matunda loved playing soccer with our boys and dinner with local Tanzania dishes at night was wonderful. Our guide Humphrey Peter shared his extensive knowledge of Tanzania in excellent English and responded quickly and positively to our questions and needs. It was warming to see how welcomed we were by friendly people when accompanied by Humphrey. He helped us buy things at the local market, organised transport (taxi or the back of a motorbike!) and facilitated our interaction with local people. This tour allowed us real connection with the Mt Meru community which made it an amazing experience. Thank you

A fantastic experience! Anyone can and should do the half-day or full-day tour of the village, the coffee plantation, the pottery production and the orphanage. And if you are a fit and experienced hiker, I highly recommend staying a second day to hike with very knowledgeable guides through the rain forest in the foothills of Mt Meru. We saw multiple groups of blue monkeys and colubus monkeys in stunning foliage, and my expert guides seemed to know every plant and animal we walked past.

I spent amazing time at Peace Matunda with my 12 year old daughter and our friend with his 14 years old. We did 8 days camping Safari and It was truly amazing experience and trip of a life time. Very kids friendly. August is a perfect time to go as it is dry season, mid temperatures, and no bugs or mosquitoes. We spent additional 2 days at Peace Matunda Orphanage playing with kids. I love supporting locals and knowing that my money goes to a good cause.

We did a 6-day safari with Peace Matunda and had the time of our lives. Joshua, the guide and Kitoï the cook were perfect and beyond our expectations. They made everything in their power for us to have the best experience. Since Peace Matunda is also a school and an orphanage, we also had the chance to spend a day with the children and help the teachers in the classrooms as well as play soccer with them. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. More than supporting a local and small organisation, when you book a safari with Peace Matunda, 15% of the profits are donated to the school and orphanage to support children, which is amazing.
We highly recommend to book a safari with Peace Matunda, we could not have wished for more.

I am so glad we chose to do our safari through Peace Matunda. We wanted to show our children what life was like in Tanzania for kids the same age as them, as well as to take them on an amazing safari, and Kaaya helped to arrange exactly that. They welcomed us in to their lives for the time we were there, and we were sad to leave Marta’s cooking!

We spent a full day at the school before we went on safari. Our kids were a bit overwhelmed by the attention at first, but the children are so friendly, and so interested to ask questions etc. It was a real eye opener for our kids.

The safari itself was fantastic. Kaaya slightly amended the usual schedule to mean less hours driving for our kids. We travelled with our guide, Joshua, and our cook Damian. We couldn’t have asked for better company. Joshua got us to the right places at the right times, and we saw all the animals we wanted to, and more. We saw 3 leopards, which was really special as we didn’t think we’d see any. Also a cheetah up close, and countless lions, elephants etc.

We also spent the last morning hunting with one tribe and visiting another. Fantastic experience.

The campsites were basic, but the tents were great (bring toilet roll!), and other campers eyed up our camp beds enviously as they laid down for the night on the ground!

But, most importantly for us, we knew that any profit from this safari would go towards helping the orphanage expand (they currently house 25 children, but have a wait list and hope to be able to accommodate a further 50 in the future). Much better than a big company somewhere swallowing up the money.

Would definitely recommend this for an authentic Tanzanian experience.

We stayed at the hostel at Peace Matunda Tours before and after a safari in October. (This was my 4th time staying here). This trip we were a group of 8 adults ranging from 29 to 71 years of age. If you are looking for an adventure that allows you to really be immersed in the culture this is it. The food is amazing and everyone is so helpful and friendly. So much better than staying in a hotel in the busy city of Arusha. We also did a safari to Serengeti and the crater through Peace Matunda and it was amazing. Our guide Joshua was very knowledgeable about the animals, plants, and history of the area. He did an awesome job and I would recommend him to everyone. Can’t say enough good things about this place!!!
