Overview
4 Days Wildebeest Migration Safari Northern Serengeti

In July, the wildebeest migration moves north, passing through the Lobo area (area just north of the central Serengeti National Park) and the Wagakuria area (remote northern Serengeti National Park along the Mara River) en-route to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. The migration can arrive to the Wagakuria area anytime from July onwards and wildebeest can be seen in the area, crossing the Mara River. In September the wildebeest herds are spread out over the northern Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. Several large herds of wildebeest remain behind in the area and sometimes weather changes can bring the herds back into the area from the Mara. In October, the herds move south towards the central Serengeti National Park via the Lobo area of the Serengeti National Park.

Such a great experience! I can say my childhood dream came true. Seeing the wildlife in their natural environment was breathtaking. If I had more time I'd definitely done the longer safari tour days. I utterly recommend this Royal Tiger tours safaris to anyone visiting this amazing land of east Africa Tanzania. So, thumbs up for John, Jackson and all these friendly professionals that helped me all the way through on this one in a life time unbelievable adventure!👍👍

We went for 4 days Meru hike and 6 days safari thereafter. John was always friendly and helpful anytime we had problems. He also arranged any pickup and hotel between our trips. We missed some information on what to bring but he arranged everything. As he always answers quickly on whatsapp you just have to ask him your questions. His team was also nice and all of them knew so much about the wildlife. We would always come back!

We booked our tour through Royal Tiger after evaluating the many safari tours that were available. The owner John was extremely helpful before, during and even after our trip. John picked us up personally from the airport, and had arranged our pre- and post accomodation. We had asked for additional help for arranging other sights that we wanted to see afterwards using our self-hire car, and John was very helpful, even when we had problems. We would highly recommend this company. For the trip itself, the wildlife viewing was spectacular. We were 2 people, but were put with 4 other (6 maximum) plus the driver and cook. It appeared that everyone had booked via different companies, and even the driver was a different company. But it was later explained to me that a number of the smaller companies cooperate together to form travel groups. Our guide (George) and our cook (William) were excellent, capably dealing with various glitches that arose (vehicle stuck-which is common, mechanical issues-which resulted in some reorganization but they resolved it). George was great at pointing out all the wildlife, even sometimes when it was camouflaged (how he could spot them while he was driving on bumpy, rutted water-covered roads, I still do not know!). We saw a cheetah and her cubs hunt & kill right in front of us. We saw lions, giraffe, rinoceros, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, warthog, baboons and many many more animals!

Communication was quick with multiple options to contact them. Our needs were well attended to. Food was better than expected. We saw the big 5 which was awesome! Public campsites were not good (specifically Simba campsite at Ngorongoro), I’d recommend upgrading to tented camps in the nice tents.

This was one of the few local tour operators that allowed us to book online directly with them instead of redirecting us to German tour operators. Being on a budget we definitely preferred this option, also I believe that this way more of the share goes to the local business in Tansania. John was very reliable, the communication was always good throughout the booking process and and also later on. We did a 4 day safari (lake manyara, serengeti, ngorongoro) and a 3 day hike on mount meru. Both was amazing! Our safari guide Hezron did a great job and went out of his way to show us the animals and special moments in nature. As described below, overnight we stayed at camp sites, which gives a nice adventurous touch, especially when there are no fences around ;) (it still feels very safe). Also the hike was perfect and a great experience of nature. We felt very safe with our guide and a ranger. With tricky weather, they thoroughly checked if it was safe enough to go to the summit and again went out of their way to make it possible after the rains stopped, even though that meant a delay and a very long day for them. Additionally, next to the guides, the cooks and in case of the hike even a butler, took great care of us. Two things to improve: 1. The park entry fees were sometimes wired last minute, which meant that we had to wait at the gate instead of enjoying our safari. However, our driver (who was not responsible for the payments), did a great job to make up for it and also stayed longer in parks with us. 2. In case of the hike, there is a recommended packing list. We only received it after our arrival and would have needed to rent a lot of things (10 USD per item). However, John was kind enough to help us out and organized the gear for us. We suggest to send the list beforehand in the future.
