Total sensory overload. My 18-year old son and I took this trip. Our trip was supposed to be in December 2021/January 2022, but due to COVID we had to postponed. Alex was understanding and incredibly helpful the entire time. He made the re-booking easy, he helped us locate transportation to Arusha from Nairobi (we wanted to go by bus), he met us at the bus station and took us to our hotel, he met us before and after the safari and he would've taken us back to the bus station, but the bus company (Riverside Shuttle) picked us up at the hotel instead. We camped (amazing camp site) and visited the following parks: Tarangire, Ngorogoro, and Lake Manyara. Our driver/guide Ibrahim was perfect--friendly, knowledgable, and equipped with an eagle eye for spotting flora and fauna. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and conversations with him. Our highlight was seeing a lioness attack a herd of zebras and wildebeast at a watering hole. An hour later, we came back and the lioness was still there, but then a bull elephant protecting his young chased her away. Our chef Obeddy was incredible. He truly is a culinary wiz. We are vegetarians so we made it harder on him. Honestly, I can't say if we have had better (I hope my wife isn't reading this). I can only imagine what he would do with meat.

We loved our experience with Back to Africa. We booked a 5days safaris starting in Serengeti, THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Our guide was amazing, we asked him full day safaris he was always doing his best to make us happy! We recommend you Ibra as Guide, he is very professional! We continued our trip in Ngorogoro, the lodge was in the middle of the forest, very peaceful perfect for relaxing! We finished by Lac Manyara which was a different experience but very nice as well. During our trip we discovered a wide diversity of wildlife! We will never forget this amazing experience! Thank you very much for organizing this flying Safari from Zanzibar 😉

Such a wonderful and unforgettable experience! I highly (100%) recommend booking a safari with Back to Africa Tours & Safaris. It's a professional and trustworthy company that provides exceptional safaris. The owner and communicator, Alex, is amazing! He always replied quickly, was reliable and provided professional service. Two friends and myself booked a 10 night / 11 day safari/travel. It did not disappoint. We had fantastic game drives. We experienced and saw so much! All the lodges were wonderful with welcoming staff and amazing food. During the safari/travel we visited Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Zanzibar Beach and Stone Town. During the game drives, we got to see all of the Big Five. We saw things that we may never get to see again. The safari was exceptional. After the safari, we flew to Zanzibar Island. We spent 3 nights at a beach resort and 2 nights in Stone Town. We honestly did have "the time of our life's". Gilliard (Gilly), our guide, was amazing. He shared so much knowledge with us, and he wanted us to see everything possible. He made the safari an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Gilliard! A big thank you to Back to Africa Tours & Safaris for creating a trip of a lifetime! Alex, I appreciate all your time and knowledge. It meant so much to meet you in person! Thank you for everything.

We worked with Back to Africa for our Mount Meru climb. We had Frank as our guide, and Alex did our transportation and coordination. We had an absolute AMAZING experience. Everything was seamless, from airport pick-up, transportation to and from our hotel before and after the hike, provision of gear that we had mistakenly forgotten (bring rain pants! But if you forget anything, they will get you what you need), and the Mt. Meru climb. We did the 3day climb. It was an unforgettable experience that was made all that much more special, thanks to Frank and the rest of the team... he guided us up the mountain, providing knowledge about the Arusha/Tanzania wilderness, and making us feel safe and encouraged the whole way up to the top. The porters were fun, kind, and efficient, and the food was amazing! Obedi was our chef and to be honest, the food he made each night at the camps was some of the best we had on the entire trip throughout Tanzania... 3 course meal each night and everything was prepared with such care and was so warming and delicious. The hike was definitely a difficult one, but Frank made us feel so safe and comfortable each and every step. He encouraged us each step to push ourselves and the reward was WORTH IT! We made it from the second base camp to the summit in 4.5 hrs. We arrived at the summit right at sunrise and were rewarded with the unbelievable view of Kilimanjaro and Arusha below us. Brought tears to our eyes. Frank, Alex, Obedi, our ranger Joseph (so knowledgeable about the wildlife!), and our amazing porters, all made this experience one of the most amazing and memorable adventures of our lives. We have worked with a lot of different tour companies in our travels, but Back to Africa surpassed our expectations at each and every step. We highly recommend them, and will return to them if we are lucky enough to get back. 5 stars ⭐️!!

We just returned from our incredible family trip to Tanzania. Back to Africa Safaris did a fantastic job of organizing everything, especially considering that COVID caused cancelations and changes. Alex Mulemba, the owner, was really responsive and great to work with. They are a locally owned company, which was important to us. The first part of our trip was a 6 day private safari to all the major sites (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengenti). The vehicle was really comfortable and everyone could see easily. Our sons loved the pop up roof. All of these places are incredibly beautiful but what made this extra special was how wonderful our guide was (ours was Gilead). Gilead was so experienced and knowledgeable. It is really important that you have an experienced guide and driver and this company will make sure of that! In Zanzibar, we were met at the airport by Abraham. He had so many interesting things to tell us on our way to the resort. Highly recommend the Safari Blue excursion. We spent our final days in Stone Town at the Tembo Hotel (probably my favorite hotel of the trip). We did a spice tour and prison island with Abraham (both excellent). Again, I cannot say enough about the quality of the guides. We found out during the trip that we would need a covid test in order to fly home and we could not have handled this without Abraham. So, if you're planning to go to Tanzania, do not hesitate to use Back to Africa Safaris. You will not be disappointed.
