We recently completed our safari organized by Allen Travels. This trip was in planning since 202 and was originally planned for November 2021, then changed to Feb 2022 due to COVID situation and again postponed to October 2022. Silas of Allen Safaris was very patient and understanding and worked with us as per requests. From the time we landed in Kilimanjaro airport (two arrived on time and two arrived a day late due to missed flight), received by Silas till we boarded the flight back, we were attended to very professionally. The guide and driver Amani was the best guide one could have- he never gave up on citing animals and he made sure that we got to see all big five, up, personal and close with wonderful photo opportunities of their life. We even saw several groups of migrating wildebeest starting from Kenyan border of Masai Mara, North Serengeti all the way to Mara River crossing which was a phenomenal experience to be remembered. I would highly recommend Allen Travels for Tanzanian safari through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Park. Contact Silas and do ask for Amani as the driver and guide!

With over 1000 tour operators out of Arusha alone, it was an agonizing decision which one to go with. I was traveling solo so that eliminated a good chunk right off the bat. From the initial inquiry until I was dropped off at the end of the safari, Allen Tanzania Safaris made me feel comfortable and made sure I had a great experience!
I opted for the 3-day safari of Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara. After reading about the Oldupai Gorge on the outskirts of Ngorongoro, I inquired if it would be possible to add a stop at the museum onto my trip. Silas quickly responded with how it would affect the itinerary and what the additional cost was. All the communication and even the payment was incredibly easy and they were quick to respond to any questions that I had.
I was contacted again the day before I was to be picked up to confirm pickup location, verify who was preparing my lunch for that first day, and to provide the driver's name. That morning Amani arrived at my hotel about 30 min before the scheduled pickup time.
Amani was an amazing driver/guide! For almost 3 full days it was just the 2 of us since I was traveling solo. He was such a wealth of knowledge, I don't think there was a single question that I asked him regarding the people, places, animals, geography, etc that he didn't know. Our conversation was easy, being just the 2 of us there was a lot of quiet time too, but not the awkward kind. He was able to spot a cheetah in a tree while driving that I couldn't even see when I snapped a picture with my telephoto lens then zoomed in on the image! He was patient while I took hundreds of photos, swapping out lenses and switching between my phone and camera. A couple times I would let him know when I was done but he would ask for a few more minutes, apparently it was mating season and he had spotted a male and female lion off in the distance and wanted to observe for a bit.
The hotel that Allen Tanzania Safari's partners with (Eileen's Trees Inn) was another absolute gem! Upon arrival they bring out a hot towel to clean your hands with and a glass of fresh hibiscus juice. The onsite gardens are stunning! You have to walk through/past several of them to get to your "room", which is the size of a small apartment. The pool was wonderfully refreshing at the end of the day, unfortunately since it was low season the poolside bar wasn't open. The chef made incredible dinners with a mix of local cuisine and western dishes. The breakfasts were fairly standard, the cook on the omelette station was very good. They had a table with options for you to pack up a boxed lunch to take on safari with you that day. This is one of the few places where the photos on their website do not do the place justice, it is so much more beautiful in person!

“Going the extra mile” sentence has nothing on these guys. Emmanuel and Ebenezar from Allen Tanzania Safari tour went far and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, and accommodating to our needs and wants. We had a mission to see the big 5 and with their bionic eyes, they made it happened! We saw 56 lions, leopard, Cape buffalos, elephants, and the one and only almost extinct, rhino! Not only that, we saw approximately 57 (I counted ;), different types of animals and species. Our guides were knowledgeable in all of them, giving us details about their habitats, social lives, gestation periods, hunting patterns, etc. Extremely knowledgeable but in case they didn’t know an exact answer, they’d quickly look up on their encyclopedia and were able to tell us.
We were traveling with 5 children and teens, our Safari guides were really patient, playful, and very engaging with them. They were also, always assuring all of our safety, which was their priority, wether was while driving, towards the animals or being mindful of our surroundings.
Before I came to Tanzania, I had heard we would loose weight, I wish it was the case! On the contrary, a few pounds heavier thankful to our Safari guides bringing real meals to our lunch. They would request wherever we were staying some fresh food to take on our picnics while on Safari. We had full hot meals; with rice, steak, potatoes, curry, steamed veggies, grilled chicken… everyday a new delicious meal. I was very impressed with their efforts in that aspect.
These guys helped us have a magical, surreal, once in a lifetime and unforgettable experience. Tanzania has my heart and I’m grateful and humbled to have had this opportunity provided by Ebenezer and Emmanuel from Allen Tanzania Safari Tours.

My wife and I have visited the Serengeti and surrounding national parks three times over the last 20 years, always with Allen as our guide and driver. The experience has been excellent every time. Allen is an outstanding individual, from a personal as well from a professional standpoint. The people working for him are all excellent.
As an avid photographer, my demands are high. Allen and his drivers understand photographers and their specific needs.
This last visit was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, with our sons and their respective families. We had an unforgettable experience.
After 8 African safaris, 3 of them with Allen in Tanzania, I feel qualified to say is that it doesn't get any better than with Allen Tanzania Safaris.

I just completed my second safari with Allen Tanzania Safaris. The first was in 2019, and I couldn't wait until I had another chance to be on safari with Allen. He and our second guide, his cousin Amani, provided an outstanding experience with many magical animal encounters, including a mother leopard and her two cubs, and a total of 5 wildebeest crossings at the Mara River. Allen and Amani worked tirelessly to ensure our comfort and enjoyment, and they are experts at getting just the right viewing angle for photographers, and for finding great sightings off the beaten path and away from the multitudes of vehicles in the Serengeti. Important to me, they are true animal lovers and highly ethical, and never did anything to interfere with the animals we came upon. Allen is truly a master guide, and after six safaris in different parts of Africa, I can say that he is the best. There is a reason that many reviews are from repeat customers; Allen is an outstanding guide and a wonderful, caring person.

My husband and I, our two sons, and their families had a fabulous 8-day safari with Allen Tanzania Safaris. The planning and execution of the 1500 km trip as well as attention to detail and personal needs were impeccable. We received a real-time explanation of animal species and habitats throughout each day's outing and no question was left unanswered. Keeping a group ages 7-76 years is not an easy task but everyone was kept engaged and animated from start to finish each day. None of this was a surprise to my husband and me. This was our third safari experience with Allen Tanzania Safaris, each one exceeding our expectations. A safari with Allen Tanzania Safaris is as good as it gets!

We used Allen Tanzania Safaris for our trip to Ngorongoro Crater and it was phenomenal. Ebenezer our guide was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and was so personable and friendly. His English is very good. It was if the animals all put themselves on display the day we went starting with elephants right by the road! I know that you would be blessed to use them!

Although El Nino had left the countryside very wet, Allen Tanzania Safaris did not let that dampen our amazing Safari with them. The vast knowledge of all things Africa from birds, plants, animals, area was just incredible from the guides. Every detail of the Safari was well planned with very nice accommodations and each day's Safari. The guides knew how to find and spot the wildlife and we were well rewarded with a long list of plants, birds and animals to observe, plus details about their species that was so interesting. Ebenezer did a fantastic job navigating the washed out roads. This trip has truly been an " experience to delight our hearts forever". The key to a successful Safari is totally with the guiding. I very highly recommend Allen Tanzania Safaris if you want the very best!

Allen was my lead guide on a Tanzania safari in 2004. In 2019, I jumped at the chance to travel with him again, this time using his company for my group. I've now just finished a two-week safari with Allen again, leading a group of 12. Our guides were Allen himself and his cousin Amani. This was my 23rd safari and I've traveled all over Africa. The key to any successful safari is the guiding. I can say with certainty that some of the best guiding I've ever had is with Allen Tanzania Safaris.
Allen and Amani had the uncanny ability to spot wildlife that other guides missed. They knew when and where to position us for the best viewing and photographs. They were also respectful of that wildlife, taking care not to interfere with them. With hundreds of vehicles swarming all over the Central Serengeti, Allen opted to go to the Moru Kopjes. Few other vehicles were there, but we had amazing sightings, including 4 lionesses with 8 cubs and a leopardess with 2 cubs. Allen even spotted a rhino at a distance. In the northern Serengeti, we saw 5 crossings on the Mara River, 4 in one day. Allen really worked at finding great wildlife viewing with a minimum of other vehicles around.
Both Allen and Amani were generous in sharing their knowledge of the wildlife, but also of the people and cultures of Tanzania. Allen's briefings were filled with useful information for us. You may go on safari for the wildlife, but you'll remember the people!
Being the planner for the trip, I worked closely with Silas, the Sales Manager for Allen Tanzania Safaris. I appreciated his diligence in getting all the details worked out for us. Even during a pandemic, all our arrangements went smoothly.

Nothing is certain in Africa while on safari, you never know what you're going to see but this tour company gives your the best chance at seeing lions, leopard, cheetah, rhino, the more rare animals. I have been on safari with this company 5 times and every time I am not disappointed. Allen knows where to go, he has exceptional instincts, he doesn't just listen to the radio and go where everyone is, HE FINDS the animals and the cars follow him. He is a great man he knows how to read what the customer wants, he's very friendly and every question I have ever asked him, he has an answer. He is the male simba of East African safaris tours! You will not be disappointed i can guarantee you that!
