Where do I start! Let me be kind and go over the good bits first. The trip started off well, there were no qualms the first two days. Prior to the trip, payment terms and locations were agreed upon. We offered to pay for the trip via card and Memory Safari’s said they did not have that option and asked us to pay a deposit then wire the rest. We gave the deposit to the driver day one and wired the rest after they sent us the bank details on the later that week. On the second last day of the trip, they asked for a letter confirming the wire, we called the bank and sent them the letter. On the last day of the trip on the way to our final destination, the driver tells us he is taking us to Memory’s offices they want to talk to us and confirm we paid. We find ourselves at a police station shortly after, being harassed by a very rude, smug, arrogant, loud and unprofessional cop who wouldn’t even let us get a word in. They claimed that they had not received the international wire transfer and accused us of canceling it after printing the confirmation. We tried to ask where the accusers (Memory Safari) were so we could iron out whatever misunderstanding this was but the cop just kept threatening us, insulting us, shouting over us and harassing us. They kept telling us about a man who ran off without paying and they were sure we would do the same despite having traveled to the same region over 10 times. They wanted an international wire transfer to reflect immediately which is not how it works and they know it and when we had spoke to them prior to the trip, they said they knew it takes a couple of days. They then changed tune and asked us if we could pay via credit card which they had initially refused several times. They started calling people asking if they could use their credit card machines! Then to buy time after they couldn’t find a machine to use, the cop who we heard confessing to being bribed buys time insisting that a statement be written, he didn’t even let Barrett write the statement, he kept trying to coerce him to say what he wanted. He would even shout at him and say that is the wrong answer I want you to say this, he even refused us to take pictures of whatever he ended up writing saying that they were for his eyes only. Please note, we had even offered to stay extra days in Arusha till the funds clear to Godsons account but they refused, they now insisted that we cancel the transfer and pay by card. How many times had we asked since before the trip if we could and they said no! Eventually after detaining us at the police station for close to 5 hours, we are taken to a dodgy back office at some office complex where it turns out Godson and co had gone to sign up for a credit card machine and we were asked to swipe there. We literally saw the sign up forms and even the guy who signed them up told us that they had just signed up. All that unnecessary drama! Why did they not just sign up from the get go? Why did they not find an amicable way of resolving this? We are still in Arusha, it’s not like we were going anywhere. Turns out they wanted the money urgently and urgently enough to leave a sour taste in our mouth and experience. Professionalism is important, I am happy for all of you who had a great experience. As for us, I never want to hear nor come across this company ever again. They change terms of agreement and ruin our trip then play victim. How pathetic. This trip has definitely been one hell of a Memory.

I can't believe all the good reviews on this site,I found the team extremely rude and cared more about the amount of money they could extract from me more than the animals or our experience. Awful!

Photogatherer, We are suprised by your review based on two things 1. Not at any one time did we organise a family safari with you in december 2019 as you claim. 2. If your claimed safari with us was horrible why complain 8 months later after Barret's review. And if this complaint is genuine give us a solid proof that we orgainsed your safarin inTanzania we will be glad to see proof. We will report this to trip advisor that your post is fake and you want to harm our good reviews.

Beyond terrible. I have lived and worked in east Africa for 10 years and been on numerous safaris. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Godson and his business partner along with his guide, Flugence, repeatedly lied and provided sub-par service. It all culminated at end of the trip, when they colluded with the police to try force quicker payment then the terms they had agreed to prior to the start of the safari. It was a clear case of unethical and possibly illegal business practice. In addition to all this deception they made attacks on the character of me and my friends and lied continuously. I would give negative stars if I could. Please never do business with this company.

Barret, It has come to my attention to read your review in claim to your safari and incriminating review, as far as we know and understand this has come to my attention to strongly refute this review based with what actually happened that made us Memory Safaris arrive to this with you, you did your safari and you got the services without hesitation and all went smoothly and all your requests were taken care of with no complaint. all the trip was done and not any amount that was received from you to us, which you claimed that you did a wire transfer to our company account on the 24th July 2020 but untill the 31 st of July a day before the end of your safari there were no fund from you to us. You sent a document that showed you did a wire transfer on the 31st of July 2020 and we checked with our bank and the banks said there were no funds remitted into our account from you as claimed. During your safari I (Godson) contacted you several times on the same, the responses were not convincing, and on the last day of your safari on the 1st August 2020 we advised our driver to drive you guys to the concerned authorities (OUR DIPLOMATIC TOURISM POLICE STATION) as we had already launched our claim as this is where all complaints and claims are well taken care of without biasness. We did this not to jeopadise our legimate company which is legally registered in the United Republic Of Tanzania, and if you had a complaint against us, you would have launched your complaint/claim with the same authorities which would have summoned us on the same. We as Memory Safaris strongly refute this and would take necessary measures if required to.

Memory Safaris hosted our day trip into Taringire and exceeded our expectations. Our guide was very hospitable and knowledgeable and catered to our needs as a family with a young 3-year old. Highly recommended and will visit again.
