About
Africa Nature Photography was born out of a love for photography and an equal love for wildlife conservation. We focus on 9 African countries, where our safaris can benefit communities but where wildlife is either abundant or in unique settings. We are an experienced, photo-oriented team and we take pride in offering the best African photo safari tours and workshops Our private safari workshops are limited to 3 photographers (and 1 additional passenger) in order to allow maximum flexibility in our specially designed safari vehicles. Our guides provide the perfect opportunity for every participant to discover, photograph, and treasure the most prized and abundant wildlife areas throughout Africa.

Once again we had an amazing safari to Tanzania and Africa Nature Photography (ANP) went out of their way to make it unforgettable! We were there for two weeks in November and it felt like we had the place to ourselves, with so many great wildlife sightings everywhere we went. Before we arrived, based on reports ANP was getting from others out on safari, they suggested we make a last-minute adjustment to our itinerary based on reported wildlife movements. It was definitely the right move to make. Also, about a week before our safari I saw a post on social media about a couple of melanistic serval kittens that had been seen in the Serengeti. I mentioned in one of my communication with ANP that it would be wonderful if we could find these kittens, as I would love to see them. ANP made note of this; and when we arrived in the Serengeti our guide, Anglebert, said that he knew the area where these servals were known to be. And he was right. On our first night in the Serengeti he found an adult male melanistic serval, who is believed to be the father of the kittens. Two night later he found the mother and one of the melanistic kittens. The wildlife sightings we had were off the charts on this safari. It is so amazing how Anglebert is able to spot animals from such a great distance but still be able to get us into great positions for taking photos. And his knowledge about the area, the animals and their behavior is top notch. You will not be disappointed traveling with ANP; they are amazing!!

Yes, this review covers Safari's number 3 and 4 with Africa Nature Photography. I did back-to-back 2-week excursions. This gives you an idea of how impressed I am with Anglebert, Tom and the crew as well as with Tanzania in general. I can very highly recommend this company and the recommendation is based on 8 weeks of experience with them. I am also scheduled to return two more times in 2021. The experience cannot be beat. The guys take very good care of the participants making sure everyone has the best experience possible from arranging the lodges and meals, to excellent driving and navigation skills and most importantly the wildlife sightings. Their ability to spot the wildlife, while driving even, is just phenomenal! You will not be disappointed with the wildlife, big and small, from elephants and rhinos to birds and chameleons and spiders on a web, you see it all! If you are a photographer they pay particular attention to making sure you have the best angle and the best lighting for the photo. If you are not a photographer, you will still be impressed by the attention to detail. I cannot recommend this group highly enough!

Another wonderful 14-day photo safari that spanned Arusha Natl Park, Tarangire Natl Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Central Serengeti and Ndutu area. While not exclusively a birding safari, it was the emphasis of this trip and I identified 175 species with total sightings approaching 200 species. This was in addition to wildlife sightings of lions, cheetahs, a leopard, servals, elephants, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, and on and on. Anglebert is a fantastic guide who adds a lot to the experience, wildlife sightings, driving, handling all the fantastic accomodations and keeping everyone focused and on track. This was my SEVENETH safari with ANP, yes SEVEN, that should express how pleased I am with the total experience! I can highly recommend ANP for any length or type of safari!

Had a wonderful experience with Anglebert Pantaleo from Africa Nature Photography & Safaris in Arusha, Tanzania and Russ Burden, a professional photographer from Colorado, USA, and...a couple of crazy birdwatchers, also from the USA.
The trip was expertly organized with recommendations for everything from packing to camera and lenses (and don't forget that flash!) to tipping guidelines and other cultural anomalies. It was fabulous to tap into Anglebert's vast knowledge and passion for all the creatures of Tanzania. He is definitely a well-educated naturalist and guide and we were able to see and photograph many wonderful animal activities that I had no idea we would see up close. And I'm not just talking about those lions on their honeymoon...
Overall the number of 'lifers' I photographed, just in the bird category, is a gift that keeps on giving as I get to spend time now that I'm home, looking more closely at each set of photos and learning even more about them. And that’s not even counting the mammals - who are the main reason I love Africa ;-) I have plenty of awesome animal photos as well and was able to see animals I didn't even know existed!
Who knew there were so many different types of antelope?
This was a fabulous safari! I would do it again in an instant.

This was my third photo safari with Africa Nature Photography, and as before, it was a wonderful trip. Our guides, Karashi and Robby, were magnificent. Karashi is a wealth of information, even making a brief stop at a termite mound very interesting. Robby's sense of humor kept us always laughing. The accommodations were first-rate. Lake Masek Tented Camp was again a group favorite. Intimate Camp was a new addition this year, and my group decided to stay the final two nights of the trip there rather than moving to another camp. The food was superb!
Our skilled and experienced guides did their best to help everyone in the group find and photograph the animals on their wish list. I really wanted to photograph the very elusive leopard, and after a lot of looking and waiting, they found a female leopard tucked away, perfectly camouflaged. She got up and gave us a wonderful sighting.
Unlike guides with some other tour companies, outs were respectful of the wildlife while still getting us in position for great photography. This attitude really meant a lot to everyone in my group.
I can't say enough good things about Africa Nature Photograph and Safaris.

Our tour was arranged by Russ Burden, a professional photographer from the US. Angelbert and Tom with African Nature Photography and Safaris were our guides as we traveled to Arusha National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park and Lake Manyara National Park.
Their knowledge of the area and the animals and birds was superb. Would definitely go back to this outfit. True professionals, hard working, tended to all needs of the entire photography group. They dealt quickly and professionally with guest issues and contingencies. Both Angelbert and Tom cared about their guests and made the best trip ever!
The accommodations and food were top notch.
Book with African Photography Tours and Safaris and you will not be disappointed!

Our group of six had a fantastic time seeing more animals than we ever thought we could possibly see. Our guide, Peter was so knowledgeable, knowing where the animals were and where exactly to position the vehicle so we could see the animals up close and personal. Imagine our amazement to be perfectly safe, but be within a foot of a male lion or a large elephant. We got to watch a lioness stalk a wildebeest, take it down for the kill and eat it with her pride. We also got to watch a lion mating ritual. We witnessed the circle of life from seeing baby everything to the elderly animals. The accommodations and staff at the lodges were great as was the food. If you want to see Tanzania, this is the way to go.

This was my second photography safari with Africa Nature Photography. As with the first trip to Tanzania with this group, every detail was handled to perfection. From the guides to the lodges to meals, it was all magnificent. Anglebert and Tom, our guides and drivers, really know their stuff. They can spot animals at ridiculous distances. They did a great job of getting us in position for the best photography results. It was such a pleasure to take a trip and know that I didn’t have to worry about anything. I would love to return to Tanzania and do another photo safari with this small business. It’s that good.

I have been on numerous African safaries and in my opinion Africa Nature Photography is the best.
They understand light and getting you in the best location for great photos.
If you book with anyone else you will be thinking to yourself what you will be missing by not going with
