We travel with Basecamp in March in Tanzania. Great experience! The price was right, the choice of accommodations was great. Driver was not too talking, very knowledgeable, reliable. Achmed, the owner, came to meet us and review our itinerary in person before we start our trip. Before leaving the country we need to do a PCR test. Basecamp was with us all the way. Even after we left Arusha and flew to Zanzibar, we still were in touch and got help receiving the test results. I would recommend this agency to all my friends. Thank you!

We had a great experience with Achmed and his team. Achmed is a very reliable professional and also quite a (nice and friendly) character! We climbed the Mount Kilimanjaro with Ben and Peter, they were very helpful and without them, clearly we wouldn't have made it to the top. Then, we went on a safari with Base Camp (Chris and Nemis, our fantastic cook). What an incredible experience ! The whole thing was very well organised. We got in touch with a few companies but Base Camp was from far the most reactive and offered attractive packages to us. We travelled during COVID restrictions and Achmed was very supportive and adaptable so that we can get tested in Tanzania and have the test results before we fly back home. Such great memories, let's hope we can travel again to Tanzania very soon!

Fabulous experience with Base Camp Tanzania ! Achmed has been efficient and very helpful to organize our trips from France in a very short time due to covid test required. Trek of Kili on machame route for 6 days was terrific despite one day of rain/ melted snow highlighted by Ben our guide hidden under his umbrella who was singing for us! Camp sites, food, confort were stunning and the joy of sharing this experience with our great team of guides, cook made the trip was unique & unforgettable. A stop at Ilboru in Arusha was really appreciated before and after the long trek! Very pleasant place and delicious food with a nice pool to chill and the owner Tom really welcoming. The safari was great too, well organized and breathtaking visiting serengeti, ngorongoro crater (with a fantastic camping spot on the hedge of the crater), and Tarangire lodge with fantastic views.. I would strongly recommend this trip in Dec/Jan/ Feb as the green nature is exceptionnal and Kili covered with snow! A beautiful escape, refreshing, liberating and far from pandemic concerns!

Wonderful experience with Basecamp !!! Kilimandjaro trek was amazing with a great team and excellent guides to get us to the top within 6 days via Machame route. Delicious food and very well organized ! Beautiful trek.. just one day of rain but the singing of our guide Ben really helped! Ilboru hotel is a nice place to stop and chill before & after the trek.. and the owner Tom very welcoming and helpful. For the 5 days tour safari we chose Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire it was beautiful and the game to watch amazing.. camping site on the top of crater was a fantastic spot (I wouldn’t say the same for Serengeti which was very basic). And Tarangire lodge breathtaking !!! I strongly recommend Achmed the owner of tanzania basecamp, very professional with high standards. You can correspond through whatsapp with him and being european he understands well and quickly your expectations. He made it easy for us. Regarding covid, we did our test in Zanzibar which was easily done and the date which is put is on the date of the results. Unfortunately we had to do the test again in transit in Ethiopia and when we arrived at the airports in Paris causing huge delays.. - - - - -

First, this safari was in pandemic time, with all problems of flying and health safety solved, we start the trip knowing that we where going to be in BaseCampTanzania (BCT) hands the moment we arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Hakuna matata (No worries). They are in charge of everything. Achmed and his team ..... This was our second safari with Achmed and BCT and he and his team did not disappoint, professional, attentive, knowledgeable, expert, problem solver and kind, will always recommend and do business with him. Fitiael, our guide ..... There are not enough words to describe Fiti, he is an exceptional guide and a great person, will never go without him. The Safari ..... We fly fron Kilimanjaro airport to Kogatende with AuricAir (great flight). 2 nights at Mara Mara Tented Lodge in north Serengeti, with 2 crossings , a balloon tour, lots of animals, a great place to witness the great migration. 2 nights at Melia Serengeti Lodge in central Serengeti, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hipos, Elephants, Hienas, Giraffes and more animals than We can remember, this is the place for the best safari experience. 2 nights at Tarangire Safari lodge in Tarangire NP with the great Baobab and lots of Elephants and much other animals. This Safari was truly a gift from God, from the beginning of problems in march, to the start of the trip, to the glorious days in Tanzania, to the sightings of nature in its best performance, to a lot of NatGeo moments, to the safe return home. To all our friends in Tanzania who we cross paths this fantastic week, who make this experience better than expected, our hearts are with you in this troubled times. Thank You. To Achmed, his team (BCT) and Fitiael. We will see you again. Thank You. A pandemic sad note ..... all lodges were almost empty, with less than 20 % occupancy, but service was outstanding, in the parks we where almost alone 80 % of the time and we did not see more than 10 land cruisers in North Serengeti and Tarangire, with no more than 20 land cruisers in central Serengeti, we feel like the parks were all ours. Thank You Tanzania.
