Pumba-Tours is a Tanzanian/German company which is specialized on the Northern Circuit – Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and co. The idea arose on a private trip to Tanzania. Tour guide and tourist have joined together and now we offer tailored safaris. Due to the lean structure of the company, we are able to make very low-priced offers at the highest quality. At the same time, we attach great importance to social responsibility within the region. Of course, we meet all legal requirements of a tour operator in Germany/ Tanzania.

If you want to book with a company that puts their clients first, then you need to look no further than Pumba Safaris. I have just returned back from an experience of a lifetime. Sebastian and his team will go that extra mile to make sure you get the best out of your adventure. From the beginning Sebastian made the booking and payment process simple. He will tailor make your holiday to any budget. We booked an individual safari and opted for a mix of lodges and tented accommodation and neither disappointed. Although we didn’t go high end I would say we received 5 star treatment in each establishment. And then there was our guide Ebenezer, I can not praise him enough. At the time we went the weather and roads were challenging to say the least, but not once did I feel unsafe with his exceptional driving skills, and he made sure we got the best out of our experience. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the elusive black rhino or lion cubs (but then that just gives me an excuse to go back), however, to see a lone lioness on a hunt was just amazing, and the first glimpse of the Ngorongoro Crater, is just breathtaking. I have taken home memories and experiences that I will never forget, thanks to Sebastian and his team. I will definitely look to book with Pumba Safaris again in the future.

My girlfriend and I undertook a 10 day safari with Pumba Safari Tours and we much enjoyed it. We would recommend them a lot and can only encourage you to consult with Edwin via phone to get his direct advice on how to structure your safari (e.g. depending on when in the year you are going some areas are better to visit than others). We had initially some hiccups with our trip (not caused by Pumba Tours) and Edwin was great sort them out. In any trip there are bound to be issues (e.g. with permits, or the vehicle etc.). The question is just how they will be resolved. That's why we would recommend Edwin, since he was effective in issue resolution but even more so, he understands that these safaris aren't cheap for tourists either and he will go above and beyond to ensure that you are getting value for money to the best of his abilities. Thank you, Edwin!

It was the best safari trip I have ever had. I was skeptical at first since it was the second time visiting the Serengeti. My first trip felt empty and the drive endless but this trip with Pumba-Safaris was exceptional. Our drive from Arusha Town to the Serengeti was full of interesting conversation and the guides were perfect and the best we could have asked for.
The knowledge possessed by the guides (Edwin and Living) were outstanding.With their guidance we were able be find almost every animal we set our mind to find.
Three days on the trip flew by without even noticing. The guides were extremely knowledgable and brilliant at the same time.
They used a strategy whereby as one guide drove, the other gave details a bit each animal and their behaviour.
My perception about game trips have changed thanks to Pumba-Safaris.
I will always use Pumba-Safaris for any game trip in Tanzania and I will recommend them to anyone who wants to experience an unforgettable trip in Tanzania.

Edwin our Pumba guide and our Pumba chef Maurice were absolutely amazing. My mum and I loved our Serengeti safari with these two charismatic, friendly and highly professional guys. Edwin helped us create the perfect itinerary and we felt completely looked after at every step. He helped us with lots of local advice, nothing was ever too much trouble and Edwin really went above and beyond to give us a trio of a lifetime within 3 days. Mum and I felt very spoilt and we could not believe the amount of animals we were able to see. Edwin is also a very responsible and sensitive guide both for our enjoyment and most importantly in respect to the beautiful animals we were so fortunate to see.
We camped in a local site which as Edwin promised us was a magical experience connecting into the sights and sounds of the Serengeti at night, Edwin also made us feel at ease in the wild.
Maurice the chef was also outstanding. We were presented 3 times a day with the most incredible meals, skilfully created from local produce and it really was some of tue best food we’ve ever tasted, made and served on the move or at camp. Unbelievable! Maurice is also the most engaging, amusing and kind chef you’ll ever meet on top of his insane culinary expertise.
What a duo! We could not recommend them highly enough to take you on a fun, safe and highly enjoyable safari experience.!thank you so so much! 💫🙌 🦁

So, i booked with Pumba Safaris a trip of few days to Serengeti, it was a best trip so far. The tour Guides, Living and Edwin were amaizing and the best at the game drive. They gave us a very good narration for the entire time we were doing the game drives, kept us very entartained and were so friendly! The customer service was soo good. Would definitely recommend them to everyone!

Pumba Safaris delivers an amazing safari experience everytime. We are Arusha-based family, having explored several tour providers over the years, but Pumba Safaris is simply the best. This was our 4th Safari with Pumba and some of the things we really appreciate and value are 1) great and clear communication before, during and after safari. 2) Edwin, who is the heart and soul of the company, a very knowledgeable on the animals, nature, safari protocols, wildlife management, and just fun and easy to be with. (all the other Pumba safari guides that we know are great too!) 3) The company is Tanzanian owned, so for those travellers who wish to spend their money ethically meaning that their money is not channelled to over-seas travel companies but benefits the local livelihood and allows the money to stay in Tanzania, this is a great choice. 4) Edwin works in harmony with the nature and wildlife. His respect and humbleness towards the wildlife is beautiful and inspirational and adds value to the safari experience. 5) He is great with kids and the kids love him. He has an ability to explain things in a way that kids enjoy listening and so that they are tempted to ask more and understand more about the wildlife. He also is sensitive towards the little travellers and their need for rest, food and toilet breaks. 6) He is an excellent driver, even on the rough and winding roads of Tanzania. I have always felt really comfortable. PLUS the company cars are in great condition.
I would rate Pumba safaris with 6 stars if the option was there!

Me and my family had great and one of a kind exciting adventure with Pumba Safaris during our trip to Serengeti N.P. & Ngorongoro Crater. Every detail of our safari was perfectly tailored and accomplished. There is absolutely nothing which we could complain. Edwin is a world class professional guide who has great knowledge about everything he should have like: navigation the terrain, animals behaviours, animals habbits. Edwin and Abdul as well were very kind and all the time tried to make us satisfied and made our dreams come true regarding spotting and observing concrete species of mammals and birds. They always followed our ideas what we preferred to see. Comunication was brilliant, our guides speak english very well. The specialy designed car provided by Pumba Safaris was very solid, comfortable and was cleaned every day. Highly reccomended.

Edwin Mramba of Pumba Safaris was a wonderful guide, from the time we reached out to him for a possible itinerary to handling an unexpected cancellation of one of our flights between Arusha and Dar, to connecting us with a driver in Dar and of course, last but not the least, to planning a wonderful expedition for us in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Edwin had planned our days out with care and thoughtfulness, he is also a patient and knowledgable guide, taking his time to make sure we saw lots of animals - leopards, cheetahs, so many lions and elephants, hyenas, hippos (so many hippos!) zebras, wildebeests, many beautiful birds and so much more. And regaling us with information and fun stories. We highly recommend him and his excellent company. We are hoping to come back to climb Mount Kili and will definitely be reaching out to Pumba again when we do.

We absolutely loved our few days in the bush with Pemba Safaris! Edwin, the manager, was very helpful beforehand and helped us organize a tailor-made trip that met all our expectations and beyond. Aron and Ernest, our very friendly guides, were extremely knowledgeable and made our safari truly unforgettable. We highly recommend this company if you want to explore the stunning landscapes and wildlife of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire.

I had an amazing experience. My guide was Edwin thrd best guide of Tanzania. He does his job with so much compassion you can tell that with everything he does. The food was excellent cheers to our cook. I never thought that I would see so much animals. It really amazed me how close you get with the animals. And so animal friendly. Communication was clear and quick. They will do anything to make your trip worth it. About covid 19 there were measurements taken. The trip is save. If I could recommend people to go I would definitely recommend pumba safari's. Take a look at there website and Instagram. You can also check out mine insta xbianka. For the best safari pictures.
