We just came back from a 7d hike with Baraka and his team and I can fully recommend going with him! He ensures small group sizes and understands which level support/speed everyone in the group needs to get to the top. He and the other guides are very experienced, knowledgeable, responsible and fun to hang out with. We were 5 clients with different mountaineering experience, we all summited and felt super safe and in good hands at all times.

In addition, the whole organisation ie the cook & porters were very good - from food, tents, toilets and general service - the team made it as comfortable as possible in the mountains. I was stunned every day about the good food that our cook managed to prepare up there!

Climbing the Kili is an amazing experience - it’s not cheap but once you see the number of people and level of service/effort involved it is really a fair price.
Big thanks to the whole team for this adventure!

We decided last minutes to come in Tanzania with my husband for our honeymoon. We wanted to do the Kilimanjaro. We chose the option Machame Route in 7 days to make sure to acclimate well with altitude. Baraka is a great guide, he gave us all the tips and advises so we could make it to the summit. He also managed the speed of climbing during the whole trek so we could be well prepared for the final assumption to follow his steps. His team is just amazing. They were all always smiling and encouraging us. They do everything to make you happy and are so helpful. Also we could see there was a good atmosphere inside the team because they were always laughing with each other. As the porter job is not easy, it is nice to see that they are happy and well treated. Also they have good equipment. It is really important because you see porters from other companies wearing broken or not appropriate shoes for climbing. Julius is a great chef, we ate really well and with lots of variety. This was really unexpected because when you are in the middle of a mountain with not a big kitchen as you could find at home, you would not expect to get pancake in the morning and French fries for New year dinner. The other guide John spoke French which was also nice for us. When we got back from Kilimanjaro, Baraka helped us to organize a transfer to Dar Es Salam. I really recommend Baraka company because you will definitely enjoy the experience with him and it is not possible to be disappointed. Thank you again for everything !

I wish I could give Baraka, his company (Kilimanjaro nature tours), and the 6 day machame hike 100 stars instead of just 5! Let me list the reasons why this tour w Baraka and kilimanjaro nature tours is so special
1) unbelievably safe.
2) very thoughtfully planned to make sure you adjust to altitude at each turn
3) the food was honestly the best food we had during our whole Tanzania trip, including other times at five star lodges. The mountain food is straight up legit.
4) Baraka is from Tanzania, owns this company, does the tours, and treats his porters as friends and equals. Most tours are foreign-owned British or South African countries squeezing more money out of Tanzania, and often treating their staff w below living wages and no benefits. This group, however is locally owned and pays all staff fair living wages, and offers basic decency things like workers comp to porters who might get hurt on the mountain, something that MOST other companies don’t. You can tell on the tour- it felt like a family experience, unlike looking at some other tours where morale looked bad
5) honestly baraka is one of the kindest, most generous, and throughtful people I can imagine.
6) tents and toilet and mess hall and all other equipment is top notch. Pouring rain many days but not a drop got on us in the tents or mess tent.
7) Baraka’s English is superb, and he is super hands on ahead of time with any and all questions we had

This was truly the trip of a lifetime. I didn’t think I’d be able to hike kili, but with this group I had an amazing time and succeeded!

I did the 7-day Machame route with my brother and dad for his 60th birthday and we could not have asked for a better experience. Baraka and his team were fantastic, and Baraka himself was incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the mountain and Tanzania as a whole. I really enjoyed getting to know him and the rest of the team. Although the hike itself was difficult, and it did rain nearly every day, I never had any doubt that we would make it to the top because of Baraka's careful planning and constant encouragement. The food on the trip was fantastic and they were happy to accommodate a vegan diet. I cannot recommend Kilimanjaro Nature Tours highly enough!

I like the fact this is operated by a Tanzanian person and gives back to the community. This tour operator was highly recommended by a friend who’s hiked before and I figured to try. When I got in contact with Baraka, he wanted to make sure my expectations, physical level, and anything that could possibly help my success summit rate. Upon arrival in December,2022 we had to push the start date due to a sudden episode of general malaise. He understood and was highly accommodating. We started the hike, and decided to shorten the days from seven to six. The hike is definitely not a walk in the park, but Baraka was always making sure we had food, water, energy, and everything we asked for was there for my friend and I. Unfortunately, due to strong winds, and a snow storm we only made it to approximately 5,300 meters. I was devastated but the main concern for him was safety. I appreciated his concern and I’m glad he made the decision. I couldn’t be happier with choosing Kilimanjaro nature tours. I also extended my stay with a 2 day safari and was exactly what I expected for. I’m sure I will be back to try again, maybe a different route. I did the machame route, it kicked my butt but it was doable. Nothing but the best for Baraka and his wonderful team, they’re a Top Team!!!

Kilimanjaro Nature Tours is the best tour company in Africa!!!

Baraka made himself available to answer questions from the moment we booked the trip even if he was on the mountain. We felt so prepared upon arrival.

We wanted to have a few days of rest before we started Kili so we did a quick 3 day safari. We weren’t expecting much as the safari was just a filler but we were beyond amazed at the experience and saw hundreds of animals. Joseph the guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond to make the experience fun. The hotel accommodations were clean and friendly with good food.

Kilimanjaro was one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life. We did the 7 day Machame route. We were a group of 6 women and Baraka, Logan, Kareem and all of the chefs and porters spent every second of the 7 days making us feel safe, comfortable and cared for. The food was amazing and always hot and ready for us when we arrived at camp. We had wake up calls every morning in our tent with coffee. The guides made themself available 1 on 1 when some of us were struggling to keep up with the rest of the group. We all summited despite personal challenges and I don’t think we would have been successful if not for Baraka and the team motivating us. At the end of 7 days we felt like we could call these people family and were very sad to leave.

Thank you Baraka and team!

We did a great and exciting 7-day hike to Uhuru Peak/ Mount Kilimanjaro with Baraka via the Machame Route. Everything went smooth from booking, to pre-stay communication as well as during the entire stay. Baraka was a fantastic guide who did everything for a great stay and of course to reach the summit. Also excellent team and great food during the tour - we would highly recommend Kili Nature Tours for everyone who wants to climb Kili.

We went to climb the kilimanjaro with Baraka and his team. Such a wonderful, easygoing and experienced guy with an excellent team. Really knew what he was doing and what would be best for us, because of which the climb was succes! He did so much more than only guide us on the kilimanjaro, even after the tour. We arranged a safari with him and took us to other places, the week after in Arusha. Would recommend him to everybody and a friendship for life has been created during our trip and the rest of the time we stayed in Arusha.

The arranged safari was a 4 day trip with everything o, which was perfect. Got a qualified guide and an excellent cook, too bad you couldn't join us her too Baraka.

We will definitely meet again!

Baraka, the owner of Kilimanjaro Nature tours is a fantastic person and that automatically translates into how he cares for the climbers to Kilimanjaro. You can trust him 100% with the complete planning and logistics of your climb. Baraka goes out of his way to help climbers and was demonstrated during our climb when we could not sleep for two nights consecutively to help some stranded climbers.

We went to Nairobi from Arusha, and Baraka ensured that the shuttle bus picked us up from our hotel before picking other passengers, just so that we could get front seats. I nicked named him 'mayor of Arusha'.

I got a new friend in Baraka on this trip to Kilimanjaro and the Safari's later.

I wish there were enough words to say thank you to Baraka, Karim, Logan and the rest of the team.

From the minute we decided to do this trip, to the drop-off at the airport at 5am the day of departure, we were cared for in the way a parent cares for their child after coming home from a long departure.

The team fed us endlessly, kept us motivated and laughing, answered so many questions and even gave us some tough love. As someone who had a different pace from the rest of the group, I never felt alone or left behind.

Especially as a group of single women, we always felt safe, secure and protected, whether it was reminder to keep your valuables safe or literally being held when hit with an emotional response to summiting.

The team is incredibly knowledgable, attentive and ready to support at a moment's notice (gross, but in the throws of a summit push, a guide was kind enough to wipe my face for me and tell me to keep going).

I couldn't imagine choosing another company to go with. With 100% summit success across the group, we left knowing that we gave the mountain our all, came and conquered and even left with new friends, family and comrades.
