My friend and I went on a 6 day safari with Soul of Tanzania. They planned a perfect itinerary going to different parks with different ecosystems/environments, which helped break up our days quite well. I think 6 days was the perfect amount of time where we weren't sick of staying in a car every day but were also ready to get back to civilization so we could at least move our feet lol. We booked all the standard lodging. The first place we stayed was Tarangire Simba Lodge which was insanely beautiful and highly recommend booking that. The next night we stayed at Africa safari lake Manyara which was actually quite flooded because of lake Manyara closing in. I would recommend booking up a level if that is an option. Our guide was super nice and upgraded us to a luxury camp the next 2 nights because of our flood stay. Acacia luxury camp was in the Serengeti and very nice. Our tent for just my friend and I had 3 queen beds, a couch sitting area and bathroom. The only negative thing I have to say for this stay was that every meal they had our guide sit with us instead of all the guides sitting together like at the other camps. We loved our guide but when you're spending 24/7 with someone sometimes a dinner with just your friend is what you crave instead of trying to come up with small talk. Finally our last stay was Ngorongoro Kuhama Camp which was definitely in the jungle and a little less "luxury" but it fit the vibe of where we were staying quite nicely. Bring warm clothes because it gets quite chilly at night and in the early morning game drives. The Ngorongoro crater was my favorite day of this 6 day safari, so make sure your safari includes this. All our food for the whole trip was amazing with buffet breakfasts and dinners every day and either a hot meal or boxed lunch packed for us to eat while out in the safari. The soul of Tanzania set up a great safari itinerary.

Kelvin was the absolute best guide for my entire safari experience. I have been on over 20 safaris throughout Southern and Eastern Africa and Kelvin 100% made my Ngorongoro/Serengeti safari one of the top experiences I have ever had.
I booked a 3D/3N safari experience with 1 day in Ngorongoro crater and 2 days in the central Serengeti. Kelvin was extremely flexible with my itinerary according to what I wanted to prioritize on my safari - we were able to spend a full day in the Ngorongoro crater with enough time to see the Great Migration on our drive into the Central Serengeti which was unforgettable. He then not only organized amazing game drives within Central Serengeti, but also drove further into the Western Serengeti to see the cheetahs where we saw a live hunt.
He was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and always made sure to stop and spend extra time at sightings that I was the most interested in - he worked so hard from the beginning of the day to after sunset in order to make sure I not only saw the Big 5, but also to spend extra time with some of my most memorable animal encounters, including following a herd of elephants with their babies as well as a rare sighting of a serval cat.
He took so much care in making sure I was comfortable throughout the day and setting up the most beautiful picnics with hot lunch during long safari days. The hotels were absolutely beautiful and the days were so well organized and seamless. When my flight back to Mwanza was cancelled, he went above and beyond and woke up at 4am to drive me 6 hours from the Serengeti to Mwanza to make sure I was back in time for work that morning (and we saw a leopard on the way!)
Kelvin truly made this experience so special for me and I will absolutely be back because of him! Thank you for everything!!!

My wife, son and I booked a 2 week Kenya/Tanzania safari with Soul of Tanzania to celebrate our son’s recent college graduation. Recognizing my wife’s nervousness going on a safari, I opted for the luxury program offered by Soul of Tanzania. Working with Marta, she was successful scheduling/booking a safari which included stays a the Sarova Lion Hill Nakuru Lodge, Soroi Luxury Migration Camp at the Masai Mara, the Four Seasons Serengeti, the Melia Ngorongoro, and the Elewana Manor at Ngorongoro. At first glance, I was a bit hesitant due to the very competitive price point we were offered for such high end facilities. After conducting a bit more due diligence, we booked, and so very happy that we did. In short everything was as promised. The facilities were all as promised as well as the drivers/vehicles. By the way, Soul of Tanzania works in conjunction with their Kenyan affiliate (Spirit of Kenya) for the Kenyan experience. In Kenya, we were blessed to have a most wonderful driver, Samme, who provided incredible insight into all aspects of the Kenyan culture. At the Kenya/Tanzania border we cleared customs, paid visa monies ($100 for Americans/about half that for other countries—bring cash as they were not taking credit cards when we passed through), switched drivers (a requirement as neither country allows the other to serve as guides) and headed through Tanzania with our ever present and very competent driver, Edward! With respect to inclusions, in Kenya all facilities provided meals and bottled water. In Tanzania, all facilities were truly all-inclusive with full bar access-even the Four Seasons! The only additional expenses include bar bills in Kenya, tips, souvenirs, and extra voluntary tours such as sunrise hot air ballooning. In both Kenya and Tanzania, our vehicle consisted of a very comfortable and modified Toyota Land Cruiser. Gone are the days of Range Rangers as Toyota parts and quality have proven to be more reliable in that part of the world. As we approached the Kilimanjaro Airport during our last day, we were sad to leave such a wonderful place and peoples. We highly recommend Soul of Tanzania and Spirit of Kenya. The price point was extremely competitive, Marta was totally responsive, our drivers/vehicles were true professionals and the facilities outstanding. I have already recommended this group to several personal friends which says a lot!

If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience, book with Soul of Tanzania. From beginning to end, every action was intentional and well planned to ensure we had a 5 star experience. Jose made booking seamless- he was always responsive and patient with changes to the itinerary. We were met at the airport by Adam who took us around Arusha and was very knowledgeable about the history and culture. Shout out to our AMAZING tour guides at Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, Edward and Losioki. Losioki was our guide and words cannot express how top notch he was- he took time during the game drives to make sure we saw everything, he shared his knowledge about the different tribes and culture, and he was just an overall nice person. By the end of the trip, he felt like family. I will never forget this amazing experience and I have Soul of Tanzania to thank. Would recommend them a million times over!

Our honeymoon in Tanzania was truly the trip of a lifetime, and we owe so much of that to Manuel, our booking agent, who planned every detail to perfection. From the moment we connected with him, Manuel listened to our vision and crafted an itinerary that exceeded all expectations. He helped us choose incredible hotels and lodges, each one unique and memorable, and arranged experiences that made our trip feel truly special. His attention to detail and dedication to ensuring everything went smoothly allowed us to enjoy our honeymoon without a single worry.
We spent 5 of our 12 days on safari, exploring Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti, guided by the incredible Cleopa. From the start, Cleopa’s warm personality and unmatched professionalism made us feel completely at ease. His knowledge of animals and ecosystems is truly PhD-level, and his ability to spot and identify wildlife from unbelievable distances—often without binoculars—left us in awe. A very big thank you to Soul of Tanzania, especially Manuel, the Journey Designer and Proches, the guide/driver, with exceptional knowledge. During the entire process, Manuel was very attentive and clarified all our doubts, he was always very quick and practical and responded and enlightened at every point. As for the experience itself, I recommend that anyone booking a safari through Soul of Tanzania, ask for Proches to be your guide. He is a very human person, with unbelievable knowledge about animals and plants, but also with knowledge of the roads, places and a network of contacts with other guides, which very quickly guaranteed us the possibility of seeing an animal. Always cautious in his approach, but also in the way he drives the vehicle and this says a lot about the person.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we fully recommend Soul of Tanzania and Proches to anyone wanting to go on safari.

My husband and I travelled to Tanzania in October 2023 as our first big trip as a couple and absolutely loved the safari experience we had with Soul of Tanzania.
Planning our itinerary with Hugo was straightforward and went smoothly at every step. With his help, we were able to select the lodges and options that best suited us.
From the moment we were picked up by our guide, Azaria, we were extremely well taken care of. Azaria was incredibly kind, upbeat, knowledgeable, and an exceptional guide throughout the entire safari. Until the very last moment when we tracked down the previously elusive leopard, Azaria put in a ton of effort to find all of the animals we wanted to see and show us incredible views. We spent pretty much all day every day driving around looking for the best sights. If we return and Azaria is still a guide, we would absolutely love to do another safari together.
We opted to do a 7 day safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti. Each place offered different landscapes, and, for us, was worth spending time at. As a surprise perk, the hot lunches were way better than we expected to eat in the middle of a safari drive. We definitely noticed people with other safari companies comparing our meals to their boxed lunches!
Based on our experience, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Soul of Tanzania.

Hugo helped us organise a truly amazing trip and wonderful experience. We did 5 days of safari and were very lucky in seeing a wide range of animals. Our guide Johnson was very well prepared and helpful in spotting all types of big cats including various Lions, Leopards and Cheetas. The accommodations were very comfortable and we especially enjoyed the Serengeti camp which was unique for its landscape. Zanzibar was also a nice and relaxing addition though must admit the Safari was our favourite part of the holiday. Very much appreciated also the flexibility in letting us tweak the itinerary based on our needs and requests. Throughout the holiday, Soul of Tanzania provided prompt support and proved to be highly reliable/organized

We are now back home but daydreaming of our time in Tanzania.
We had a fantastic time on safari. We were met as planned in Arusha airport by our guide Stanley.
Stanley was absolutely the star of our safari - an exceptional guide - friendly, attentive to our needs and requests, a safe driver, complete connoisseur of the parks and wildlife. We learnt so much from him and he gave us full confidence that we were in safe, capable hands even when our back wheel got stuck in the mud following the heavy rains!
The parks are spectacular and the process to get in and out was handled flawlessly and with minimal interruption to our trip. The nature and wildlife is so unique and incredible!
The lodges were also great - accommodation at Escarpment was particularly amazing. The communal areas at Sopa Lodge were really nice but the rooms are laid out in a way that they are small and dark unfortunately.
The food and drink options at the lodges were good, however the food options during the day at pic nics were the only part of the experience that were not great and could really do with improvement.
Overall the value for money for the experience was very good.
Thank you also to Marta who made the booking process very easy for us and was very accommodating of the changes we requested to our itinerary.

From the start Jose, our journey designer was very knowledgeable, quick to respond to any and all questions, as well as rebooking the first day of our trip due to a flight cancellation due to weather w/out hesitation and kept our itinerary running smoothly. Our guide Losioke was extremely kind, knowledgeable about the history of Tanzania, the flora, fauna, animal, etc. He taught us SO much! He was so funny and our 2 boys age 12 & 14 loved him. We were lucky to be in the midst of the great migration with thousands of animals surrounding us. Lodges were all great, excellent service and food. Losioke also handled any issues with our truck expertly with a calm, confident demeanor! Highly recommend, Soul of Tanzania. Nothing negative to report. Would definitely use this company again!

We are scheduled to start out trip from Arusha in a week. We did not get muc info on ho we will b picked up and who our guide is going to be. Can you please share your experience on when you found out the name of your guide? Did anyone on their trip ever had to contact the operation office in Arusha to get that info? Thank you

Are there plenty of food options for vegetarians? We do not eat any meat, seafood or fish. We do eat eggs and dairy.

Hi! At all the accommodation we stayed at the chefs will prepare whatever food you want even when it’s not on the menu. That also includes packing you a picnic lunch to your requirements for days you are on game drives. Both the Kenyan and Tanzanian hospitality was first class. I don’t think you will have any issues as they are so accommodating and happy to please their customers .

Unlimited Expeditions Limited is the holding company for The Soul of Tanzania. As long as the invoice has one of these names, the invoice is legit.

Has anyone actually been refunded as per the terms and conditions, when they cancelled with this company due to COVID? Seems several people are waiting for their money to be returned. Also, any idea why they would ask us to pay our deposit to a different company name located in Kenya? These two issues are concerning.

3 day safari I traveled to Tanzania to make my first safari, with so much offer I was a little confused which operator to choose, however I chose the soul of Tanzania due to all the advantages presented by Luis, such as meeting the needs in choosing the itinerary, accommodation, hot meals and vehicle conditions. After the safari I can conclude that it was the right option. Our guide, Michael, has always been very empathetic and helpful in all our doubts. I strongly advise to include Serengeti in the script, we did not and later we regret it. No doubt I will repeat the experience with this operator.

How likely is it that one can catch Malaria? I caught Dengue fever in Central America about 23 years ago and am worried because my tour company notice states that Malaria is a risk in some of the sites.

Can anyone please give me an indication of the fees imposed by Soul of Tanzania’s bank in Kenya? (I.e not your bank’s fees for making the outgoing transfer; but specifically Soul of Tanzania’s bank’s fees in Kenya for receiving the funds?)
I just want to have some idea of how much these will be before making the transfer! Obviously I can check my own bank’s fees but not Soul of Tanzania’s bank...

Hello,
When you make the transfer you can ask your bank to pay both sending and receiving costs. If you just cover the sending costs, they will pay the receiving costs, which are not fixed, they vary according to the relationships between your bank and their bank and typically stand at around 10 to 20 USD. But the best is if you cover all costs as there will be no surprises. Every bank can do it.

SHA (shared) means you only pay your bank's outgoing transfer charge. We receive your payment minus the correspondent (intermediary) bank charges.
BEN (beneficiary) means you do not pay any charge. We receive your payment minus all transfer charges.

Hi! We are in the process of booking a safari through Soul of Tanzania. I wanted some practical advice re making payment for the tour by bank transfer to Soul of Tanzania's bank account in Kenya. Has anyone paid by that method and if so, any tips or tricks you could share with me? I would appreciate any advice at all (I have not made such a large international transfer before and wonder whether there may be any particular practicalities to be aware of). Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I paid with a credit card. There was a surcharge, but in the end it was less than the cost of a wire transfer. Just a tip, I used a new credit card that I was attempting to meet the purchase limit to get the massive amount of introductory points, so it made that extra fee worth it to me. Depending on the cost of the safari, the credit card fee may be equal or cheaper to the wire transfer fee-- so check on that-- and it is easier to track, provides rewards, and will be covered by travel insurance.

We are returning to Arusha by small plane (Auric Air) from the serengeti, does anyone have information on size of soft bag which allowance to fit on plane. Internet research says no bags with rollers. I already have a 30" soft bag.
