Sunset Africa Safaris is definitely a reliable and experienced tour operator! Thanks to our guide Omaru, our 4 days 3 nights small group tour(3 pax) in the Safari was surely above our expectations, and he knows where to to find the animals. While we were in the Safari, the only thing we need to do was to enjoy the breath taking views and the closeness to the wild aninimals; everything else (Transportation, lodging, food...) was taken care by our experienced and knowledgeable guide.
My advice for doing a Safari tour:
1. Small group is better as you can move freely in the car to see the animals on both sides.
2.Plan your trip in advance and prepare the fund in advance in cash or bank transfer, generally credit card doesn't work well in Tanzania as there is 5% charge on the consumer side.
3.Bring warm clothes, SLR camera, binoculars with you.
4.Serengeti and Ngorongoro are must visit attractions.
At last, a very special thanks to Godfrey (Owner of the firm) for solving my duplicate fund transfers problem in 2 business days in parallel!

We had an amazing time during our 5 day camping Safari. We visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks. Our guide Elemesi was wonderful and really went above and beyond our expectations by getting close to the animals. We saw multiple prides of lions, plenty of giraffes and families of elephants, amongst other animals (cheetahs, leopard, hippos, buffalo & many more). We would strongly recommend Sunset African Safaris, booking was easy and they were very accommodating to our needs.

Sunset african safari is an absolutely recommendable tour operator. We had booked 6 unforgettable days in the Serengeti as a private tour. our guide Patrick is an excellent driver and knows a lot about the Serengeti and its animals. We felt absolutely safe in every situation. Our accommodation was in a mobile camp. The service of the staff, the food and the friendliness is unforgettable. These camps are equipped with everything you need. In our eyes, this is already luxury in the great outdoors. During our game drives we were so overwhelmed by all the animal sightings that this can hardly be put into words. All our respect to all the staff of Sunset African Safari. If possible we will come again

Excellent organization and customer service, our 4 day tour was amazing.
We arrived in Arusha a bit uncertain how to begin our tour but they guided us on the most suitable plan. After we set out the first day and a bit weary from the trip, on our return to the hotel, they had a team member come over to the hotel after dinner to plan the next day’s itinerary and Kept it up for the rest of our stay... pampered!!!
We just laid back and they handled right down to the little details, making sure we lived in the moment, i was impressed cos frankly speaking wasnt expecting much from the outset *winks*

I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with Sunset African Safaris and they were brilliant! My guide, Hassan, was nothing short of exceptional and got me all the way to the summit. The rest of the crew were all so kind, especially Ally, who made sure I had everything I needed and that I was comfortable every day. Great experience all round!

We were recommended this company by a hotel we stayed at. The guy we talked with were very helpful and nice when we made the booking. Then when we started the safari firstly we had to pay by cash which could be a hassle trying to withdraw that amount from ATMs. Then we were promised to meet out group outside a supermarket, when we arrived the group had already left so we were driven to the first safari by another guy. We meet the group and the safari were good but then started the circus that makes me not recommend this safari operator to anyone.
We were told during the booking that we would spend one night at a camp at the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, but no, we spent all the nights at a camp around an hour drive from the crater.
At the camp no one really knew which operator we were traveling with and no one could tell us what time we were leaving next morning or which driver we should have. During this trip we had different drivers each day and went with different groups each day. Still during the booking we were promised we should have the same driver and group.
So during the booking we were made a lot of promises that wasn’t keeps and as soon as the safari started we couldn’t get in contact with the operator except one WhatsApp message which wasn’t helpful at all.
So our conclusion is that there is a lot of safari operators out there and this is not a good one.

We had a great Safari experience with Sunset Africa. We went for a one-week safari in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater before flying to Zanzibar for another week of beach holiday.
Godfrey, with whom we organised the trip, was highly responsive and took good care of all our individual requests. He welcomed us personally at our first evening in Arusha.
Our driver Beni was highly knowledgable on the local wildlife, friendly, a safe driver who takes good care of the jeep and flexible.
Sunset Africa can also arrange holidays and tours in Zanzibar. We went on a great tour through Stone Town with our guide Abraham.
All in all we had an exciting and once-in-a-lifetime experience in Tansania. We can highly recommend Sunset Africa and would happily book with them again in the future.

We can just recommend doing your Safari with Sunset Africa! We booked the 4 day/3 night tour 2 months in advance from Germany. Everything went without any trouble- the downpayment, the pick up for the briefing and the entire schedule. We did the tour with our guide Omar (Omie) and the cook Juma, those two were just great. Omar was very nice, motivated and helpful. Juma provided the best food we could have imagined on a Safari.
Upsides:
- very reliable and helpful
- Omar made sure we got to see the ‚Big 5‘
- Camp No 1 was actually an iglu instead of a tent
- enough time for taking photos etc.
- delicious food: breakfast - omlette, pancakes, fruits; lunch - lunch box with sandwich, chicken, snacks, fruits, juice; dinner: salad, rice, beef, chicken, pasta, fruits
Downside:
- Camp No 2 in Serengeti could have been cleaner, but that is apparently the public campside where all camping safaris head to
- Car was a bit old but we didn‘t have any trouble with it
All in all we were very satisfied with what we got for the price.

We did an unforgettable beautiful 12-day tented safari with Sunset Africa. We started at Tarangire National park in which we saw, next to the ‘normal’ zebras, wilder beasts, impala’s, giraffes, warthogs and more, an amazing number of Elephants and we had our baptism of fire with lions next to the campsite.
After Tarangire we went to Lake Manyara were spent a day driving along the lake where we saw all kind of animal in het bush and millions of flamingos.
Although the first two national parks were impressive the tour did build up to better and better. Ngorongoro crater is a truly beautiful place where we added hippo’s and (nine!) rhinos to our list. In the Serengeti National Park, we saw a really unbelievable amount of wilder beast and zebra migrating through the area and we completed the Big Five with a number of leopards. Since we had a couple of days in this big park we were able to get away from the standard locations we could really enjoy the various landscapes and the variety of animals.
Next to the wonderful landscape and the number and variety of animals we were spoiled by our excellent driver/guide Ben who was able to spot and identify animals at enormous distances and could tell all kind of background stories about the animals, the parks and Tanzania.
Of course, there are things to improve like a slightly bigger tent and slightly better chairs and diner table but that really does not change the way we feel about this adventure. The car was in good condition and the served breakfast, lunch and dinner was tasteful. Public campsites are basic, but we still feel that our choice for those campsites instead of lodges by which we could add a couple of days to the safari was the right choice. Next time we would consider special campsites.
Guide Ben and Sunset Safari, thank you for this experience and we would like to recommend you to all travellers. We hope to contact you for our next safari soon.
