This beach was built on a landfill. Every now and then, the wind and waves expose the hidden treasures underneath. I nearly stepped in a 6 inch, rusty nail. Right by the water's edge during high tide, there's a black, rubbery type mud that seeps from underneath the sand and into the ocean. I don't know what it is, but I've never seen anything like it. People say this beach is "good for kids" but I have my doubts. I wonder which government official's idea it was to turn a beach into a landfill and build a free swimming pool to attract families with kids to go and play there.
