This is a cake shop with ice-cream. The shop itself reminds me of somethong out of Harry Potter quirky and interesting. You can take as manay pictures as you want. Lots of different cakes to choose from and tea. Staff very attentive and polite. They also sell ice-cream which is very yummy but beware the queues can be quite long... More

This is the main shop of Dawncake just 3 minutes walk from the Taiwan Railway Taichung Station (not the high speed rail). The deco and settings are reminiscent of a classical library. Well trained staff of inviting attitude explained the products professionally. The Dawncake products are very keen to use natural ingredients as shown on the label and proof by... More

Did not visit the shop personally. Asked hotel concierge to place order for delivery to Taipei. The carton was tastefully designed, all items packed NICELY with beautiful boxes and paper bags provided. The pineapple tarts 17 and 2 , sun cakes and flower biscuits were delicious!

Long queue for ice cream as there is simply too many flavors to choose from. Good thing that it's located outside so that it doesn't hinder the people inside the building from shopping for the pineapple cakes and local snacks . Very nice architecture of the old building inside it. A short walk from the main train station.

Nice ambience and interesting place. Exquisite packing although price is on the high side. However, no sampling of food. We went an hour before it closes so there was totally no crowd. Delivery around Taiwan is available with top-up of NT170 to ensure you get the fresher batch before you depart.

The Ice Cream corner are pack with people, ques up for their exotic ice creams ranging from fruit sorbet, tea flavours and chocolates. Pastries were given a choice to choose. The main building sells all sorts of pastries/ chocolates etc in exquisite packaging. The famous would be the pineapple tarts.

I bought some gifts for my family at the branch in the old eye hospital, though expensive there are so many thing to choose from as gifts small and large for your friends and family. I am told the pineapple cake was wonderful. I also had lunch upstairs, which was really very good, pricey but well worth it. Highly recommend,... More

Read quite a bit about this place so I thought was a sure visit. Impressions are: over-crowded with tour buses pouring tourists in even though it was only late morning. No doubt the product packaging and visual merchandising of the place is still worth a quick look, but I spent about 5 minutes in there and quickly felt overwhelmed.

The monument itself is already worth the trip. On the exterior it looked run-down but when you walked in, you felt like you have been welcomed by a high class chinese tea house in the 60s' setting. The quality of their cakes and biscuits is subjective, but the design and concept of the whole place is the one which is... More
