Not sure why this place is popular. Just a normal river in a city. We happened to dine at a veg restaurant next to the river. There wasnt a lot of lightings along the river, and didnt see any activity around.

Two sides of Aihe are seaside park. At daytime, you could see the bustling tall buildings. At night time, you could see the colourful decorations on two side. No matter walking along the side or visit by boat, it's relaxing and suitable to all ages.

The river is not as cleaned as I would expect. Would be much better if the water is cleaner. I will not recommend this place.

If you want to take to the water in Kaohsiung, take the ferry to Chijin island. The Love River is rather dull and the banks have little of interest, so a boat ride offers nothing more than you can see on land. The harbour is the most interesting part and is south of where the river actually officially begins.

We found Aihe especially charming at night, where the bike lanes and pedestrian zone gets very lively and different buskers perform - we sam a young girl playing the drums which was amazing and on the other shore two ladies were singing love songs. We sat at a snack bar right next to the water, listening to their songs and... More

Take a nice 30 minutes cruise along Love River on a solar powered boat. Enjoy the lights of the city with an early evening ride. The only drawback was the guide only spoke Mandarin, but you could follow along with the video subtitles. There are lots of photo opportunities.

Way too hot to go walking along the river during the day in mid summer, but at night it can be quite pleasant. Many of the locals seem to use the route for daily exercise, and it's an easy route to follow. A few interesting sights to see along the way.

I do not see something special here, just a river, well I saw a love (statue?) there, for people taking pictures. The view is nicer at night, to see colorful lights along the river and bridges.

I walked along the river for around 20 minutes and even though it was relaxing and clean, it was missing something, a sense of purpose. I think it's mainly a place for the locals to relax after work or on their lunch break, not really a place for tourists.

Have a stroll or a bike ride along the river, there are bikeways along both sides, you can visit wetlands park or hakka museum and stop in heart of love river.
