I cannot imagine a trip to Taiwan without visiting the gorge. Its a painting come to life, with plenty of hiking spots and photo opportunities. I'm already looking forward to an eventual return trip.

The sheer scale of the gorge is overwhelming. Absolutely marvellous place to walk through and enjoy.

We spent the whole day at Taroko National Park, which offers probably the most beautiful natural scenery in Taiwan. The visit requires some hiking so be prepared for some exercise in order to enjoy the breathtaking view.

Had a blast at Taroko gorge. The view was breathtaking, my local guide was super friendly and funny. People in Hua Lien are very easy going. Didn't know inbred a permit to hike the most beautiful trail. Definitely will come back again

We were so disappointed with our visit to Taroko Park. We wanted to escape the city for some peace and quiet hiking in the park - however we visited over the weekend and found it to be incredibly busy, noisy and polluted. The park is spoilt by huge congested roads that criss cross through it and there was visible signs... More

Honestly , if you had to visit just one place in Taiwan , this is THE one ! It is just breathtaking, amazing , so beautiful . No words can really describe the feeling on seeing those 500m-700m high gorges from the bottom and be able to walk through it . Also , do not miss to walk a couple... More

It is very riveting. Many shades of marble and some engineering marvels, cutting through the hard stones to build tunnels and roads !

Not to be missed. Took the half day tour with the Silk Place hotel. Stunning surroundings. If you are lucky, you might be able to spot a mountain ram or monkeys on the way. Stay away from the monkeys though. We were told that they might get aggressive.

This is a must see place in Eastern Taiwan. It is much better if you can avoid peak holiday periods such as Chinese New Year or you will be inundated by touring buses and crowds. The best way to see it is by foot or bicycle as you will not be troubled my cars and buses.

We visited here before the onslaught of the high season, and had it to ourselves. The raw beauty of the geography was memorable. Riders beware, the road to get here makes the Amalfi Coast seem like the Autobahn.
