Sarath's boat tour was just what we wanted. A two hour exploration of the canals and some beautiful bird sightings. Sarah arranged hotel pick up with a good driver and he made our boat tour fun and educational. We went from four to six pm which was perfect for bird activity and some great views of the sun setting. Very reasonable price as well. Highly recommend!

Our boat trip this afternoon for sunset was amazing, Saruth & the driver were so friendly, knowledgeable & polite. Nothing was too much trouble, returning to spots to re view birds & animals. Saw lots of birds & bats, monitor lizards, close up. The flora was fantastic, saw mangroves & so much. Saruth gave us fresh coconuts to drink from & pineapple. A really enjoyable & relaxing two hour trip, they made us feel so welcome. Even the tuk tuk trip of 15 mins to get to boat & back were enjoyable & saw places where there were minimal tourists. Fantastic value for money, would recommend Saruth Tours EVERY time!

We decided to take a 3-hour boat tour through the canal, harbour, lagoon, and its mangrove area. In short it was a great experience but there is so much to write about it! We have seen various animals like varans, monkeys, crocodiles, bats, eagles, chameleons, snakes, a lot of exotic birds and fishes. Sarath was an incredible guide who not only tell us about nature but he also showed the day-to-day life in Negombo by stopping near the fisherman and letting us see and ask about their job. He also bought for us mangos, yogurt and water and helped with buying a sim card and delicious local lunch. We are grateful and happy about the whole adventure, for us 10 per 10!

Sarath was the perfect guide for my partner and I to experience the canals and rivers. He has an incredible eye and pointed out animals we would otherwise have missed - everything from monitors swimming or lazing in the trees to a tiny little green chameleon amongst the grass on the river bank. He treated us to fresh coconuts and red bananas along the way and we motored back to our starting point capturing a magnificent RED sunset en route. Truly magical! Treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

A really great tour, we saw loads of birds, bats and monitor lizards. Our guide stopped each time we saw an animal and explained what it is to us. A tuk tuk picked us up from our air bnb and dropped us home which was really handy.

My friends and I were in Negombo August 2024. We took a sunset boat tour with Sarath and could not have been happier with the experience. The boat and driver were excellent and very helpful pointing out wildlife but also the views were stunning. This was a wonderful way to spend an evening in Negombo. I highly recommend.

Sarath's Boat Tour was delightful. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and skillfully maneuvered the boat so I could photograph birds, monitor lizards, and the sunset. The trip was beyond our expectations as we identified at least 19 bird species with close-up views. All in all it was a great introduction to Sri Lanka--people fishing in the Indian Ocean, folks gathering on the beach to watch the sunset and eat, and a plethora of bird life.

We planned this last "adventure" in Sri Lanka before our return to France. The fear of participating in a “tourist” attraction was great. The discovery of this pretty canal and our guide’s perfect knowledge of the fauna and flora that make up this magnificent environment quickly reassured us. We share with you some photos and strongly encourage you to live this experience.
The very reasonable cost compared to the pleasure is one of the best arguments.
Thanks again to our excellent guide and congratulations for his mangrove climbing lessons!

We booked the 3.5-hour Muthurajawela Marsh tour. It was quite fun. Sarath came to our hotel and picked us up. We started at the canal which could be so picturesque, however it's now in dire shape, as it's now filled with garbage, highly doubtful if anybody is actively maintaining it. The mangroves themselves made the tour more than simply worthwhile. Suffering from jetlag, we could only do the afternoon tour, so there were a whole lot of animals, but we indeed saw so many birds, monikers, and monkeys. I'd whole-heartedly recommending taking this tour while you're in Negombo.
