My friend and I were travelling together in Sri Lanka in April, and we were so lucky to encounter Prabath. He helped us so much with getting around, and drove os from the coast to the mountains. - And back again! Sometimes we felt anxious driving at night, but Prabath was our savior! He made us feel completely safe, even though we were driving on dangerous roads in the dark, in a storm! It was obvious he had great intentions, and our best interest in mind all the time. He made sure we were comfortable (and his car is very nice and clean). We were in Sri Lanka during the protests in the capital, and he made sure we weren't driving in any unsafe places. He also helped us a few times with contacting the hostels we were staying at to let them know we were arriving. (sometimes communicating wasn't the easiest, and he helped us immensely in these scenarios) Furthermore he also went out of his way to help us attain a covid-test + get an answer within 24 hours before we had to catch our flight away from Sri Lanka. I am honestly not sure how we would have survived without the help of Prabath, and we cannot stress enough what a nice person he is. Prabath turned our amazing holiday plans into an educational, magical, special trip of a lifetime. I didn't know how he would be able to match up to the slew of 5* reviews I read before contacting him, but I was left in no doubt that he is a super professional and very nice person who I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. From answering my emails clearly and promptly basically assisting me in planning our entire tour, through to polite, helpful, kind and a very safe driver on our holiday. Plus he's a funny, intelligent guy too and very good company but also great at giving you space if that's what you want from him, I feel like he is very good at reading people and what they need from their trip with him. My Mum (whose 70th we were celebrating) has never been on a holiday like this, and I have never hired a guide/driver, but we were so thankful that we did because Prabath made our holiday incredibly special and I can't thank you enough bro! <3

Since I was a child I had always wanted to visit Sri Lanka (Ceylon) so for my 70th birthday decided to make this dream come true. With my daughter, Amy, we planned our itinerary but could not find a travel company to agree with our personal plans. Amy therefore took it upon herself to arrange the trip for us.
This she agrees could not have been done so well without the help of PRABATH who not only turned out to be an excellent driver and guide but also became a friend.
For weeks she emailed him to organise timetables etc. and was impressed with his speedy responses and helpfulness.
In January 2017 we were met by this delightful young man with a huge smile. He and Amy had obviously bonded over the internet and immediately developed a banter which improved over the next 2 weeks. After the first hour I was able to sit back, listen to them and relax when I realised what a safe driver Prabath is.
Not only a good driver but also a brilliant guide with his knowledge of his lovely country, the myths and legends and an understanding of where to stop and what to show us. Each day he would find us new fresh fruits to eat whilst in his beloved “van” and also took us to various local eating places.
He always escorted me across roads and kept an eye out for Amy at the same time. In first 10 days we travelled over 800Km together. He had organised a train journey for me, a safari for Amy and on my birthday, having bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, between them they found for me a plantation house secluded in the hills where all three of us had tea and cake together.
We were meant to spend the last 3 days by the sea but after 2 days Amy and I admitted we missed Prabath so he came and took us to his home town of Galle where we spent a delightful day together cementing our friendship.
The previous remarks in trip advisor do not exaggerate, the praise for Prabath cannot be too high and Amy and I would recommend him to anyone who wants someone with such professionalism and kindness to help them discover this beautiful country.

We met Pabrath after arranging a safari tour with him and he was just the most helpful guide ever. He is punctual and thoughtful (having binoculars water and fruit for us) he arranged a great guide to take us around the safari and he shared his memories and lots of fascinating local history with us along the way. Pabrath is a very skillful driver and succeeds in making you feel incredibly safe on roads where the driving in general is harrowing to say the least. He was such a pleasure we actually got him to take us on to Kandy for the next stage of our holiday rather than get the train as planned. An absolute gentleman and it was a pleasure to meet him. I really couldn't recommend this guy highly enough. Thank you Pabrath.

I found the Prabath's contact on internet and his kindness and helpfulness persuaded me to choose him as my driver for 4 days in Sri Lanka. I travelled with my boyfriend and Prabath was not only a driver but also our first sri lankan friend. He is a great person and he loves his job. He's always ready to help, give advices and tell you something about sri lankan history and culture. He bought a lot of exotic fruits for us, as we had never tried them before coming in Sri Lanka, and he made us try peanuts and other typical Sri Lankan foods. Prabath is a safe driver and his van is very comfortable. We spent 4 beautiful days with Prabath and we enjoyed a lot. He is a really nice person, a young, honest and authentic guy. He gave me a nice shirt so that I can remember him. We had a trouble during the holidays because somebody stole us part of our money and Prabath help us a lot. We visited his home and we met his fantastic and playful dog.

Excellent communication, emailing promptly at all times, advising on schedule and updating at every move. Warm and generous personality made us very comfortable through days of close proximity. Knowledgeable in many fields and interested in us. Plus Prabath suggested some very interesting en route stops without us ever feeling he had ulterior motives.Would not fail to recommend his services to anyone wanting an enjoyable holiday.

My husband and I had a fantastic day with Prabath! He arranged for us to be transferred from Colombo and we met him just outside Galle, where we continued on to Udawalawe Park.
First stop was the elephant orphanage, followed by a very tasty buffet lunch at a nearby restaurant (the name escapes me now). The safari that followed was amazing! Thankfully Prabath had brought along his binoculars so we could check out all the action up close.
It was a long day, and I certainly didn't envy Prabath driving on those crazy Sri Lankan roads! But he did a wonderful job and got us back to Galle in time for dinner. Prabath also arranged for our transfer 4 days later, back to Colombo.
He is highly communicative and nothing is too much trouble. A true gentlemen, an expert navigator and a wonderful ambassador for Sri Lanka. Thanks again Prabath, we look forward to seeing you again on our next trip to your beautiful country!

Meeting Prabath and getting to spend time with him was the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. Aside from the basics - he is an excellent driver, reliable, honest, extremely knowledgeable, has a new and well maintained car - he is also a genuinely kind individual that puts much effort into providing top notch customer service. Prabath takes the safety and wellbeing of his customers to heart and goes above and beyond to make sure their time in Sri Lanka is the best it can be. As a single woman traveling alone, Prabath provided safety tips and cautioned me about potential dangers. It was a special experience to get to learn about Sri Lanka through his watchful eyes.
In sum, Prabath provides more than transportation; not only does he offer a safe way to travel, historical and current information about his country, but also a great sense of humor that makes a long car ride feel too short.
I would trust Prabath with the most precious of cargo, he is a gem.

Our experience with Prabath was fantastic. We designed our itinerary in advance and booked our own hotels and then approached him to see if he could provide the transport. What we got was sooooo much more than that. He planned the routes, did the (very challenging!) driving, suggested interesting stops and places to eat, negotiated with vendors, translated, and taught us about Sri Lankan culture and Sinhala language along the way. Several times he was able to gain access for us to places we noticed were closed to other foreigners. From the outset his day rate seemed a bit expensive, but in retrospect it would have been absolutely ridiculous (if not disgraceful) for us to try to negotiate a lower price. The level of service Prabath offers, the comfort and cleanliness of his vehicles and all the extras he includes are worth every penny; he calculates costs very carefully based on the trip details proposed before departure and is straightforward and fair. I also want to note that we did not appreciate in advance just how long some of our trips would take (boo to Google Maps, whose timings for Sri Lanka are frequently off by 300%). I wish I had involved Prabath more in the initial planning of the trip as he could have coached us on what is and is not realistic based on local road conditions, weather and timing. He is an expert in his country and knows all the usual places exceptionally well--but among the many special things about Prabath is his willingness to try new things and go to new places he had never been simply because we seemed interested or he thought we may enjoy them. His sunny disposition, affability and sincerity endeared him to us and we couldn't be happier with our experience.

On September 2014 we traveled around touring Sri Lanka.
We were driven by Prabath, an outstanding driver we hired.
Pravas is very reliable and accountable, ready to help and assist.
Pravas is a professional driver, he drives according to law and road conditions, he is careful and cautious.
He is also familiar with the roads and routes all over.
His car is spacey, clean and pleasant.
Pravas is a polite and pleasant man, very thoughtful. He is sensitive and knows "how" and "when" to keep quite, giving the space needed and allowing experiencing in full the Sri Lanka "tour experiene".
Pravas is knowledgeable, he has a vast historical and geographical knowledge on Sri Lanka which he gladly shares with his passengers, enriching the knowledge and enabling a better understanding of where we were and what we saw.
Pravas explained Buddhism, daily life, current events in Sri Lanka, doing so, he extended the value we got on the tour.
Pravas is definitely, what we define: "the success of our trip", he contributed to a successful, enjoyable, free of complications or misunderstandings trip.
We warmly recommend him and his services.

Driving in Sri Lanka is not for the timid or inexperienced. I would NEVER recommend renting a car here or driving as a foreigner as roads are very narrow, unmarked, characterized by dozens of hairpin turns, sometimes in poor repair and filled with plenty of drivers who have no concept of personal space or safe driving distance. We always felt abundantly safe with Prabath at the wheel. He was ever mindful of our daughter's tendency to motion sickness, frequently stopped to buy us interesting snacks ("shorties") and navigated exceptionally difficult conditions with grace and ease. He is fair, honest, and respectfuk in every situation. We hired him for 8 days to show us Sinharaja, Udawalawe, Ella, Lipton Seat, Pasekudah and Polonnoruwa and were always amazed with his connections to the best local experts and resources. He was exceptionally kind and caring to our nine-year-old daughter, making sure she was both safe and satisfied, and he was simply integral to our experience of this incredible country. Our week here has been notjing short of spectacular and I give him my utmost recommendation. Is-thu-ti!

Prabath looked after our family for a week in June 2015. We found him to be very reliable and honest. Prabath is very knowledgable of Sri Lanka, the culture and many places of interest.
I would recommend Prabath highly if you need a driver to tour anywhere around Sri Lanka.

Hi Kathleen,
Driver rates should be negotiated in advance based on your itinerary, the distance/length of time with the guide/driver each day, the size of your group and whether a van is required (or if a smaller fuel-efficient vehicle will suffice), whether gas/parking/tolls are included, whether he can return to his home base at the end of the day or if he must pay separately for his own room and board somewhere. Drivers who speak fluent English and can provide translation/guide services can justifiably be more expensive than someone who is literally just putting a key in the ignition, taking you point-to-point and dropping you off. Thus, it is hard to generalize about rates. Prabath's rates are all inclusive, provided you honor the itinerary that you email him in advance (like everything in life, last-minute changes, more complicated plans and longer travel can require extra expense). There were no hidden fees, no extra expenses, no surprises even though some days we traveled together more than 10 hours... Because we kept to our plan. This being said, driving times are much longer in Sri Lanka than elsewhere in the world (100km could take 5 hours in some situations) and Google maps is notoriously inaccurate not only in terms of routes but also estimated travel time for Sri Lanka. Your best option is to ask Prabath about travel times, seasonal appropriateness (some destinations are prime for this time of year while others may be negatively impacted by specific weather, marine, and other local conditions) and logistics immediately or at least before your plans are completely set in stone. At the top end, maybe you would pay around $100/day but if you have a completely smooth, safe (oh my goodness the drivers can be crazy in Sri Lanka!) and customized experience with all charges known up front--as we did with Prabath--that service is priceless.
