Good stroll round the old town.

Such a pity the litter detracted from this walk on the Fort walls. Lovely little beaches round the Fort. Lots of little souvenier shops. Good choice of eating places .

Well maintained and quaint place. Only be careful of the tuk tuk guys, they can smell an outsider and are likely to fleece you on your return.

We spent a couple of hours walking around this historical town in Galle. It is a bit of a tourist trap, but it has some cool little cafes and great historical buildings. You can walk around in one hour or three, or stay the night to explore more. Easy to get to by bus, tuk tuk or taxi.

Pitty this public place is not kept clean. Bad smell everywhere. We took a bike ride and food was good (we took fish).

Protected by the UNESCO Galle Fort and Old Town are very impressive to visit! Beautiful sunsets can be observed from the Fort's old walls.

We spend just a short evening in the Old town. It was quite different from the rest of Sri Lanka, like old European cities. Narrow streets, nice shops and less traffic. If you like to get away from all the hustle and bustle, this is the right place. Lot of nice restaurants and small hotels. It's also a nice place... More

We took a day trip to Galle travelling by train from kalatura. The old town within the Fort Walls is only a short stroll from the station, head across a busy road and enter through a tunnel under the old walls. Inside the old town it was very relaxing with many colonial building still standing, many are cafes and guest... More

If you are in Sri Lanka then visiting Galle should be a must. It's a beautifully quaint old Portuguese town surrounded by a lovely fortress. You have to enter the town through the fortifications, which are a great place to Start your tour. They circle the town and are a level 2 km walk. If you have babies be sure... More

Old Galle and its fort is a charming and historic place to wander and explore. It has a rich history, with many remnants and buildings left from its colonial past. It is also a living community. I started early morning, walking along the old forts, beginning with the old clock tower. As you walked, you can see many locals getting... More

Nice place for a stroll, people watching, see small boats in the harbor. Even on a warm day, the breeze is nice
