The church's beautiful from the outside but what a disappointment once you get in. We had the feeling that locals tried to turn it into the tourist attraction, no one respects the codes of a visit in a church (shoulders not covered, silence not observed). The person who's watching over people inside the church doesn't seem to realize that he's not supposed to entertain female tourists but rather to make sure that people behave. Out of that the church has quite some charm but there's a lot of mold everywhere in it, that's really something that ought to be fixed.

This place was a surprising stop on my and my boyfriend's walk through the historical center of Galle. I think that this church is much more interesting than e.g. Galle's lighthouse. Stop by to checkout architecture, atmosphere, and to take a few pictures.

I stumbled upon the All Saints Anglican Church after leaving the Maritime Museum. It is located along the main street and stands proudly with its facade and beautiful architectural design. Although it is up for restoration I can say it is still well maintained. There were a few people inside the church when I entered. It must be busy with devotees during the regular church service. Worth spending a few minutes when visiting Galle Old Town.

Viewed as a single item you would have to say not particularly impressive, but along with the fort, other religious buildings, houses and hotels that make up the old town it is just a very pleasant old church worthy of popping in and adding a donation towards it's upkeep.

This is an old church that shows typical architecture of the period. The church still has services running.

This is another Church located inside the fort. This Church is very old and was built by the Portuguese and dedicated on 21-02-1871. The exteriors are alright, but the interiors are in a bad shape. The walls are discolored, moss ridden and need to be painted, the interiors are not well maintained. Even the display board outside need fresh painting. The wood work and the stain glass windows are in good shape and present an excellent view. The surrounding lawns are neat. From the outside the structure is imposing. The interiors are serene and calm and present a holistic atmosphere. A must visit place irrespective of religion mainly for its architecture and its history.

The sturdy Dutch warehouse, built in 1672, has been remodeled and re-purposed as a historical museum. The exhibition begins with a video to explain the collections and to narrate Sri Lanka's history from prehistoric peoples to international trade in the time of the Greeks & Romans to colonial trade with Dutch & British. Actual vessels, replicas, items recovered from shipwrecks, Chinese porcelains are included. The exhibitions conclude with a model of the wreck of the British ship, "Avondster" which was discovered in Galle Harbor. in 1993.

Grand old building with old dark wood and whitewashed pillars. Good to see its being restored. Worth a look in

A great church with very interesting sts of tombstones which make fascinating reading. We spent around an hour in the church looking around and keeping cool from the mid-day sun.

The Church was beautiful and we spent a pleasant while walking around absorbing its history.

We made a donation to the churches coffers as one should when visiting, but were then approached by a little caretaker who appeared out of nowhere showed us a few hundred rupees and asked us to tip him accordingly as well, so we did, what to do.
