About F.air
“Whale Watching and Scenic Flights” operating from Koggala Airport allow passengers to observe the largest Mammal on earth from the air and it is an exciting experience. Flying above them won’t disturb their natural environment but offers you a unique perspective and understanding of the magnitude and beauty of this graceful creature. Considering the fact that the Mammal can be almost 30 meters in length and 200 tons in weight, it will certainly be an enduring sight for you to treasure. We operate high-winged aircraft, which allows each passenger their own window seat and optimal, unobstructed viewing.

Overview
Get a bird's-eye view of the marine wildlife off Sri Lanka on this whale-watching flight tour. With a professional pilot at the helm, you'll listen to commentary on the whales you see out the plane's windows. Unlike a whale watch in a boat, you can cover lots of area in a short amount of time and easily find pods of whales and dolphins. This private tour ensures personalized attention and a flexible schedule.

It would be unfair to rate this tour depending if you see whales or not. Nature is not a museum, so you cannot just expect to see whales or other animals. At the same time, I think it is unfair that the company claims to "allow passengers to observe the largest Mammal on earth from the air" but in reality it seems to be a pure lottery if you see whales or not. Therefore, this tour is rather a scenic flight where you might (but maybe not) spot whales. This is the way the company should offer the tour. Apart from that, I confirm that this is a professional and well-run company. The pilot was great and we all (two adults, one child and one baby) enjoyed a safe and beautiful flight.

Really enjoyed the trip with F-air, they made you feel really welcome and the flight itself was amazing. Unfortunately we did not spot any whales, we left at midday and was really hot, we would have had better success earlier apparently. This did not diminish our enjoyment. the pilot tried really hard and we were up for well over an hour. The views coming back to land of the south coast were fantastic, a beautiful country. If the pilot asks if you want normal or exciting take off, be brave, worth every penny! Next time we are in Sri Lanka we will do this again, make the effort to get there as early as possible and hopefully see some whales.

Wow!! This is a extremely professional and well run company. From the minute you arrive and until you leave you have a feeling of being in safe hands. The flight is just awesome, truly amazing and the pilot did everything to put us in a position to take the best shots. We saw a blue whale a couple of times, dolphins and turtles. The scenery from the air is fantastic. If you are in a position to book this then do. Very highly recommended and we will do this again on our visit next year.

One of the best and breathtaking experiences ever can have in Sri Lanka. Per person cost is a bit high for a local tourist ($150) but i assure you, the feeling that can have once you completed the ride is extraordinary. The ride is around 45min to 1 hour and you will never feel a dull moment once you get into the flight. Pilot Harin was very supportive throughout the journey and he well explained all the safety features, whale-watching techniques, site scenery and the history of the area. It was a lifetime experience and highly recommend. Cheers..
