I knew there would be no English guide but after taking this tour, I wish there had been. I would've liked to have learned more about these important sites. As the other reviews state, each destination is timed and if you miss the bus you are SOL. Not such a huge deal, just take a taxi to the next destination. The weather was not on our side during this tour. By the time we got to the Buddhist temple there was a bit of a rain storm going on. It's a very long trek to make in horrible weather that by the time we got to the site and saw all the stairs, we turned back. Not the tour company's fault but unfortunate nevertheless. We were soaked to the bone. Ugh!!! If you decide to take this tour, you will save money because it's very reasonable, but I would learn about the sites in advance, check the weather forecast, and pay attention to the bus departure time!

This review concerns Gyeongju City Tours operating from the tourist bureau next to the bus terminal. I took the Night City Tour which covered Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, Cheomseongdae Observatory, Gyerim Forest, Traditional Village and Woljeonggyo Bridge, most of which were floodlit. The next day I went on the full day World Heritage Tour which included some ancient tombs, Bunhwangsa temple, Seokguram grotto and Bulguksa temple, with a lunch stop (at your own expense). I knew when booking these tours that the narration was in Korean only, but the guides made an effort to give me an account in English. Even without English narration, these tours are a good way to see the main attractions, some of which are up to 16km out of town and hard to reach unless you hire a car. There is a lot of walking on both tours, but the ground is mostly flat.

Gyeongju tour which covers Yandong Village, Seokgulam, Bulguksa Temple and Anapji cannot be missed. It has a very beautiful scenery as you were in China. The Wolji Lake in Anapji is as beautiful as the West Lake 西湖 in Hang Zhou 杭州,中国,China. I have read a lot of negative reviews on Gyeongju but I was lucky that I took a one day Gyeongju tour through 'Klook' which assigned Ktour Story to conduct the tour. Be prepared to walk a lot, but it's worth the walking. A credit to our English speaking guide, Mr Chan Park and Chinese speaking guide, Ms. Sunny. We were very fortunate to have a bilingual speaking guide in a single tour. I would give a 5 star complement and credit to Mr Chan Park. I sprained my legs and could not walk fast and needed a walking stick to walk. Mr Chan Park on seeing I have difficulty in walking, he offered to carry my bag, assists me on every steps up and down the slope. Nowadays not easy to find young guys with such a caring and sincere heart. "Ktour Story" , you really engaged a very good tour guide. Mr Chan Park, million thanks for your help, if not I won't be able to complete my Gyeongju tour and enjoy the nice view including the sun set ar the Wolji Lake. Fully recommended!

This city bus tour was advertised to be in English as well as Korean. The English was only on a video which lasted no more than 2 min. at each attraction and at the first it was "broken." This tour was not at all what was advertised. Nothing much is given to other language speakers so they really should not advertise to other than the Korean speaking community. We were offered no compensation for the "broken" video, and were generally ignored. This was truly not worth the money. Never would consider this company for any tours in this city. Very poorly run, misleading in its advertisements, and rather primitive and disorganized in the way it is run. In truth, to be avoided at all costs. You'd do better taking city buses to the attractions and getting English speaking guides there which are provided at no cost.

Indochina Odyssey Tours booked our day trip to Gyeongju from Seoul. As is true with everything we have done with them, the day went seamlessly. A driver picked us up from our hotel and took us to the train station, showed us where to board, and gave us our tickets. The train ride provided a lovely view of different areas in South Korea along the way which I recommend. In Gyeongju, our guide/driver for the day was awaiting our arrival. We had a lovely visit to the sights I had arranged with Odyssey Tours. Our local guide was a tremendous asset, not only for the past but also for what it is like to live in southern South Korea now. He picked a lovely restaurant for lunch and then he treated us to coffee in a popular local shop afterwards. He somehow managed to get us to all the sights on my list and back to the train for our journey back to Seoul. It was truly a wonderful day. Highly recommended. Thank you again Indochina Odyssey Tours.
