    Only for its historic importance...
If only for its historic importance, we have rated the Cheomseongdae Observatory as a Very Good attraction but in reality it was Average. Admittedly, it was starting to rain, but we walked the entire perimeter and took the obligatory photos. Certainly, its inclusion by UNESCO as the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in Asia warranted our visit.

A beautiful and iconic place in Gyeongju
If you want to experience a genuine local night out, I'd suggest visiting the Cheomseongdae in Gyeongju. The road leading to Cheomseongdae is decorated with lights, which illuminates the surroundings and creates a fascinating atmosphere. As the evening comes, Cheomseongdae is decorated with colorful lights, which make it feel grand and perfect for capturing beautiful pictures that surpass the daytime scenery. The road to Cheomseongdae is perfect for a walk because there are no hills, which makes it suitable for a leisurely stroll, allowing visitors to enjoy the towering royal tombs in the back. Also, admission is free, and you can visit without financial burden. Also, next to Cheomseongdae, there is a pink muley garden and a sunflower field, so it would be even better to visit during the blooming season. Cheomseongdae offers an opportunity to experience ancient Korean history and culture, making it an ideal tourist destination for those interested in astronomy and history.

A more beautiful place at night than during the day.
It is located close to downtown, so it is very accessible. After the MOVV city tour, I had dinner on Hwangridan-gil and went to Cheomseongdae. The night view of this place was very ecstatic. I was curious about what it was because it was built in a wide area, but it was said that it was a place where I looked at the stars a long time ago. You can also look around Woljeonggyo Bridge, Donggung Palace and Wolji with Cheomseongdae.

Gyeongju where you can feel the history of Korea.
If you want to experience traditional Korean houses and cultural properties, I recommend you to visit Gyeongju. In Gyeongju, you can see the Cheomseongdae, which is an amazing astronomical observatory of Silla built during the Three Kingdoms Period. And you can also see the tomb, which is magnificent bjilt during the Silla Period. When you stay in Gyeongju, you will be able to see Korean traditional costumes. And you can even try on the costumes. It will be a great experience to understand other countries' cultures. So, I recommend you to visit Gyeongju. I hope that you can have good memories in Gyeongju. It's well worth a visit.

    An interesting piece of history
This attraction is easy to get to if you're in downtown Gyeong-Ju amongst the tumuli and other fun things to do and eat. It's free (or it was when we were there at night), and even if you don't et up too close, it can be seen from a long way off. At night, it's lit up with different colors, so the photo opportunities are great!

Cheomseongdae in Gyeongju is the oldest survival star observatory in Aisa.
It's also a symbol of this city.
Coming here in the autumn day made me feel so relaxing. This place is so beautiful in autumn. There is also beautiful pink muhly glass garden nearby.
Around here, there are so many coffee shops and restaurants in traditional architecture.

Neat historical significance as it's one of the first recorded observatories in East Asia. Obviously the tower is not all that exciting on it's own haha, but it's right next to some large beautiful flower fields. I visited at night and it was warm and breezy, very nice. I gave a score of 4 because if your visit time is limited, it's not that essential to check out, but nice if you have time.

Tgis is my favorite place in Gyeongju - Cheomseongdae! Really close to bus terminal and you can actually walk from there to the spot (if you love walking). You can also take a bus or bring your own car. This place is really good for couples and best to take photo to represent Gyeongju. Will be back here next time!

This structure is thought to have been built in the 7th century, which would make it the oldest extant astronomical observatory in asia. The observatory has a square base and is about 10 metres high. The structure looks like it was constructed from stacked fine cut stones and has a square opening about 6 metres up, which is also thought to have been the entrance
