    Interesting example of a tomb
The Cheonmachong Tomb is the tomb no. 155, one of a complex of tombs in the Daereung complex. There is an entry fee of 3.00 won. Inside you can see the excavated grave with the artifacts and there are some displays on the walls. There are TV screens that tell the story of construction and excavation is different languages, including English.

Wonderful Collection of Grave Goods & National Treasures
This tumulus tomb is thought to have been the burial place of an unknown Silla king or a very high ranking noble. This is I think the only tumulus in the burial complex that is open for visitations. Inside there’s an exhibit of the funerary goods. Mostly stunning is the gold crown, decorated with jade and spangles, and clearly been made by the hands of a master craftsman. Other funerary includes cavalry ornamentation. There are even videos to demonstrate the Silla cavalry alongside the horse equipment.

    Small but interesting
This is an interesting little museum built into a tomb in central Gyeong-Ju. It's a bit prciey compared to other, larger meusuems and sites, but it was worth it to see the burial goods of an ancient king in context. It's also a nice respite from the heat on a hot day of wlking around the tumuli park.

This is a fabulous museum, dug deep into a burial mound. It highlights the architecture of a Shilla tomb, and the treasures buried within it. You can't understand Gyeongju or the Shilla without visiting this site. Highly highly recommended.

Beautiful, the gardens are very well kept, the maps amazing, all free, water fountains, can go in number 3 of the burial grounds which has an exhibition which it is named by. Not hard to find. We went first to find king taejong muyeol which is about 2 miles out of town but also visiting.

This was the only tomb in Daereungwon that we were able to enter and get a better understanding of how they were constructed as well as more insight into the traditions behind this king's burial. It also was air conditioned which was a nice break from the weather outside.

The main attraction was a very detailed replica of the actual burial chamber with the wooden coffin, gold crown and other artifacts that were buried with the king. As we circled through the mound, there were more displays going into further details about such items as the crown, treasures and the flying horse saddle that contributed to the namesake of this mound. It was quite amazing that the painted wood survived over a thousand years and became an important symbol associated with the Shilla period.

There also were good videos covering the mound's construction process and well as the excavation. Definitely you should view it as part of your visit.

Large ancient tombs of kings and nobles of the Silla Kingdom can be seen around Gyeongju at the Daereungwon Tomb Complex. There are twenty-three large tombs located here; 13 have been excavated but only 1 (Cheonmachong - tomb of King Michu) is open to the public. The chamber of the tomb contained a lacquered wooden coffin which had burial goods placed around it. A total of 11,500 artifacts were recovered from the tomb, demonstrating the lavish lifestyle of the king. The majority of these were removed and now reside in the Gyeongju Nat'l Museum. The tomb was excavated in 1973 and is believed to date probably from the fifth century.

We visited on a VERY hot and humid day! They do sell water in a few spots, and a chunk of the grounds are shaded. The tomb itself was impressive and they have some great displays showing how the tombs are built.

There are these interesting looking tombs everywhere in Gyeongju. This tomb called the "Heavenly Horse Tomb" is the one that stands out. It's suppose to be the tomb of a king from the Silla Dynasty. 3 blocks from the bus station. Something different to see while in Gyeongju. Check it out.

If you are a fan of history and art, you want to visit this park with many tombs. Check the opening/closing time and go. Even for walking and resting, it's a really nice place. You can't go up the hills. here is many benches, clean toilets...if you are a bit out of time, you can just see the most important and leave easily.

Here you are able to enter one of the many grass covered mounds around this town, to see inside the royal tomb. It is incredibly historic and symbolic. There are a few discoveries on show with the remainder at the museum. Pleasant stroll as well around a well kept area.
