For an intriguing bit of ancient history visit and tell your friends. Dunsan, the newer modern section of Daejeon, had people there thousands of years ago. You get to read in English and Korean while seeing reconstructions of their dwellings. Worth the time.

It was quite interesting to find an ancient pre-historic human
dwelling (which dates from the pre-historic times, on the banks
of the Gapcheon river), in the midst of an ultra-modern and
well-laid-out technological city. The settlement had found tools and
implements, storage spaces, fire-places where ancient humans had
settled down. The interesting part, as the inscriptions mention,
was quite some distance away, but has been recreated on a small
hilly park, almost right on the other wise of the road,
corresponding to the long distance bus pick-up stop structure,
adjacent to the Daejeon Government Complex green area.
Three clusters of huts have been recreated here, with life-like
sculptures inside. The entrance has a traditional Korean-style gateway.
Nice and extremely well laid-out park!

I happened upon this little park on a snowy day and it was amazing seeing the little reconstructed houses covered in snow. Don't miss it!
