A bustling market during the day, this is a very large day market that sells all sorts of things from fresh foods to clothing. The street food is really excellent, definitely recommend!

Do you guys also love night markets like me?? I enjoyed buying cheap foods, desserts & drinks here soooo much! The market itself was really big and filled with ppl, however they all wear masks and follow the rules well, so I didnt worry much about corona.
P.s. Intestines are famous in Daegu, so make sure to try one here for a very cheap price!

Seomun Market is full of various food courts, souvenir shops, street foods, cloth shops, etc. I was provided market gift vouchers & an onnuri gift card worth of ₩20,000 by the Korea Tourism Organization & Daegu Tourism Bureau. Since the food is very affordable at this night market, ₩20,000 is quite difficult to spend at once. You can buy any stuff from this market by using market gift vouchers or onnuri gift cards; they work here as cash. I opted for a super tasty cheese lobster, a spicy takoyaki, and a refreshing mango ade in a unique bottle.

Be prepared to wait for around 10-15 minutes for your turn to come as the market serves delicious food, and locals usually come here to satisfy their cravings at night. If you happen to be in Daegu, make sure to drop by this market.

Seomun Market has an incredible variety of fabric for those that love to sew! They also have many accessories such as zips, buttons, sequins, beads... and much much more. There are also many other bits and bobs like clothing, accessories, shoes, kitchen goods, cleaning goods, etc in other parts of the market. There are also people who sew and they can sew you up just about anything if you bring them the material and a pattern or picture of what you want made.

Bustling market during the day, peddling stuff from dumplings to clocks and clothes. Maybe even a bit hectic for some. However, i think the most enjoyable time is at night when the market really rolls out the streetfood and locals get up to sing public karaoke whilst people watch with cheap bag cocktails. Makes a fun tasty night

This is very big day market selling all kinds of things from fresh/ preserved foods to clothings, shoes, food, & many more. Rows & rows of stalls & shops are selling the same stuff , it is so very competitive.

We came here 2 times during our stay & by around 6pm, many of the stalls are already closed or going to close. So come in the daytime if you want to see more.

Korea is famous for their markets - be it night markets or street markets. Whichever cities you go to, they will all have similar type markets - difference is more or less, big or small.

We have been to many such "similar markets" in many of Korean cities. Jn such markets, you can get some very good dry seafood foodstuff eg Dried Pollack, Anchovies at reasonable prices as compared to the supermarkets or departmental stores.

Korea has huge supplies of seafood - its mind boggling just to see the tremendous array of seafood on sale in all the many markets.

Most of the markets are actually quite similar. This market offered a s slice of their daily life and local food. The weather was chilly this Dec but we indulge in warm fish cake and hot broth right at the entrance of the market just outside the subway. Be greeted by the rosy cheek girl selling the fish cake. Move around and enjoy the snacks such as grilled dumplings with rice, and their local greyish sweet rice water. The rice water was not a sight to enjoy but it offered a pleasantly sweet taste lingering at my palate. We had lunch in one of the small lanes too at the beckoning of the stall vendors. If you are not sure which one to go to, just check out the advertisement of the celebrities on the glass walls of these small stalls. And not forgetting a bottle of beer to go with their food.

A huge open-air market which is colorful and heartwarming in offering a slice of Korean life at its best. Everything is sold here from clothing, household goods, plants to food of all varieties. Especially impressed by the stalls selling rice/porridge with intestines (a rarity in Singapore these days) oden and all types of street food. Stall-holders are hard-working and persuasive, calling out to us to buy fresh fish, mainly mackerel, but many varieties of dried goods as well from ginseng to dried shrimp.
A wonderful Sunday morning's visit!
