- Edmund ABacoor, Philippines89 contributionsASEAN - South Korea eventMy visit here in Busan was great as I stayed near This beach and was able to have my usual morning run and enjoyed my one hour run. Even though the weather is cold at about 4 degrees on a sunrise 6 am run, was amazed to witness the sun rising in the sky and was able to accomplished my 5 kilometer distance. Highly recommendable to see this area. Even at night, lights are greatVisited November 2019Written February 2, 2020
- Valentina AhnIncheon, South Korea201 contributionsBest place to get a dzenI woke up at 5:20 am to meet a sunrise, so many people over there that early time, jogging, duin yoga and meditation. I came here to find myself, to make a big decision. So the atmosphere of the Morning Haeundae beach helps a lot. The beach is not clean, so the water.Visited August 2020Traveled soloWritten August 25, 2020
- thelonious224,395 contributionsNice when it’s not overcrowdedHaeundae Beach is arguably the most popular and definitely the most developed beach area in Korea. While it might be unbearable during the summer months when the sand is barely visible because of the crowds, it’s one of the most pleasant spots in Korea when the crowd is reasonable. The paved walkway that is parallel to the beach for a mile is a great spot for a stroll or jog. Although a lot of dining and drinking options have inflated prices, it is nice to have so many options within walking distance of the beach.Visited May 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten May 4, 2020
- Alek_HHHamburg, Germany20 contributionsLovely beach, but what to do with that?Objectively Haeundae beach is nice, long and photogenic. When the sun is right, great photos can be taken. The contrast of the colour of the sand and the sky with the glass buildings that reflect the sky works wonders. The problem is with my expectations. Namely, I wanted to eat something nice or maybe have long coffee or do anything, sports perhaps, but on the beach or nearby there is not a single restaurant or cafe or any activity. At Gunam-ro it is possible to find all this (well, about quality vs. prices another time), but it does not make any feeling that I am close to the sea or near the beach. I believe it still meets the needs of the locals, as I learned they come, bring the food, some kind of tent or parasol and enjoy time with their families. For me, there is quite dull, and one visit is more than enough.Visited June 2020Written September 6, 2020

Young singers and music groups play jazz, soul, Korean music, etc... nothing loud. I relaxed a lot. Simply nice!Visited September 2019Written May 27, 2020

It is impeccably clean, as well, and mask wearing is enforced giving a sense of security. - Kenna_Elliott3 contributionsGood beach, but not my favorite and lots of touristsHaeundae Beach is the "it" beach of Korea, but I honestly think that other beaches that are less populated are more favorable (i.e. Seogwipo in Jeju and Gwangalli in Busan). It is a manmade beach situated next to the city and hosts a giant and very impressive sandcastle festival in April/May. Note that during the peak summer months where weather is warm, the beach is known to be very crowded.Visited July 2022Written December 14, 2022

- SiYauKaiVancouver, Canada109 contributionsNice beach, located in a modern neighbourhoodComing from the airport or Jagalchi area, it was quite a drive to get to the Haeundae beach. But if you're visiting the Haedong Yonggung Temple, then it's close to visit this beach. It was winter when we visited, and the beach was cold and windy. But a great place to take pictures on a nice, sunny day... with artwork spread out on the beach. There was lighting everywhere, assuming that they lit up at night... would be impressive!Visited December 2019Written January 17, 2020

This beach is not very big and it can get crowded at times, sometimes very crowded, and with good reason, it's a beautiful beach with clean sand and lots of stuff nearby to satisfy everyone.
The hotels on the beach are expensive but the ocean views are fantastic. If you are visiting Korea then Busan Haeundae Beach is likely already on your bucket list of places to visit. If it's not then it should be.

Busan is port city located in the southern part of Korea. Busan is a fantastic destination for travelers looking for a mix of city and nature. The city is known for its beautiful beaches, which offer picturesque views of the ocean and a chance of sunbathing. One of my favorite places in Busan is Haeundae Beach, which is surrounded by high rise buildings and has a lively atmosphere that's perfect for people-watching. The nearby Dalmaji Hill, which offers beautiful views of the beach and the city, For those who want to feel the beauty of nature, is also well worth a visit. Busan's colorful culture and delicious food make it a must-recommend destination for anyone visiting Korea.

Beach is OK but the city background and the facilities are terrible. But most importantly, there is hardly any freedom. Everything is controlled South Korean style which means that you can only swim when the Government tells you the beach is open for swimming and then it is highly patrolled and you are told off as soon you get "too deep" in the water. No beach is really enjoyable in Korea due to this "nanny state" mentality that forbids this very sense of freedom but if you have to go to a beach, you'd better choose Gujora Beach for example, an hour drive away or so on Goeje Island.

Hi I am planning to visit Busan beaches in mid-August, is it allowed for late-night stay in the beach? keeping in mind the corona situation. TIA

Of course, all is subject to change but at this time you can't be in the water after 7pm., must wear a mask on the beach/boardwalk, no fireworks. But, you should be able to walk/hangout on the beach late night. I don't believe they are allowing any tents or the like though.

hello, how big are the lockers for luggage?
Kari Hakala

There are few types of lockers in the area smaller ones will fit a small suitcase, the bigger ones can fit mid-size luggage, not one of those big ones normally people used to travel.

Hi, you mean Busan Port Terminal? I don't swim so I can't provide a definite answer. But I guess it is not advisable to swim near the cruise ships. From the map, you can take bus from Busan station to Haeundae Beach, it takes around an hour.
