Nestled in a few acres in Albertson, the delightful Clarke Botanic Garden is a little paradise that contains a rose garden, a butterfly garden, an apiary, a vegetable garden and a lovely pond with picturesque bridges! A perfect way to while away an hour or two!

Small, quiet, 12 acre garden that has it all. Free admission, man made pond, streams, beautiful trees, bushes, wildflowers, perennials, and Daylilly gardens. There is even a small gift shop.

Happy Halloween! Every year Clark Botanic Gardens host the Spooky Walk and the Not So Spooky Walk (for the little ones or those adults with the faint of heart). Oh what fun to pay $5 to see your loved ones (especially my spouse), family members and friends get scared. Where can you get such wholesome fun like this for an inexpensive stroll along a beautifully decorated Halloween themed meandering path where scary ghouls/goblins (actors) pop out to give you the ebi jeebies and happy nightmares for this ever growing popular holiday? CLARK BOTANIC GARDENS! It's an annual event hosted by Nassau County where there's entertainment (decent band this year 2018), food truck (for those who need to eat at every fair), games of chance (for those individuals that want to throw away their $$$ for a chance of winning a stuffed toy) and several amusement park rides (though ticket purchases). Overall a fun filled event where you'll say and think back how much enjoyment there is in a Halloween Spirited Fair sponsored by Nassau County! Boo!

Beautiful botanic garden hidden away behind the railroad tracks. Two ponds with turtles, fish, frogs, a stream running though the gardens. Los of benches for resting, plenty of walking paths and trails through the woods. You forget that you are only a few feet from main roads, suburban sprawl. Lots of birds, butterflies, owls. and when it snows, they clear enough paths so that on a nice winter's day you can enjoy the gardens, too. It's a local jewel. I go very often.

If you are looking for a park for a picnic, quite stroll, or beautiful flowers, this place will not disappoint. Has a great kid gardening program.
The BEST Halloween Spook Walk in Nassau county for all ages. Not to scary during the day.. scary enough for the pre-teen, teen and dating kids and do-able for their parents and grandparets

This has been one of my favorite places to visit for many years. It has beautiful seasonal flowers, a pond, a gazebo, lovely walking paths with benches when you need them and picnic tables should you pack a lunch. Many informational programs are held in the historical house on the grounds. They have a small gift shop and plant sales in the Spring and Fall. In October, there is a Spooky Walk at night and a Not so Spooky Walk for children during the day. Christmas time brings a Winter Wonderland of lights and displays. One of the best programs my son enjoyed for years was the Children's Garden where they learned how to weed, plant and grow vegetables which they got to take home very summer. At the end of the season, the children had a Harvest Parade in costumes followed by a BBQ. Clark Gardens is very picturesque and peaceful. Best of all, it is free to enter and enjoy. Try visiting sometime, you will love it.

Small but very nicely laid out garden. It's hilly, with a few ponds, a couple of nice photo place opportunities.

Only difficulty is lack of directional signs. One could walk around and get lost quite easily.

We lived a short walk from the garden for close to 25 years and we would bring our kids there for the Spooky Walk during the Halloween season at night; but Clark Garden is much more than that. Not nearly as big as the Planting Fields Arboretum, this is a fine alternative when you want to spend less time traveling and just a few hours taking it easy. Lovely gardens with many spots to sit and take it all in. A convenient parking lot is also a plus, less walking and traveling, what more could you want.
