Treated myself on my birthday. Requested deep tissue massage and requested very strong deep massage when calling in, informing stiff muscles.
Massage was light touch and more then half animators where out of order!!
Very disappointed.
Booked my appointment for the morning (booked massage here based on steam room) started up steam room had massage came back to steam room doing nothing. Informed front desk. They stated they will get it going. Killed time in hot tub... which jets weren’t working... so hot bath. To still return to the steam room with a out of order sign. Left 2 hrs earlier then planned didn’t even check out the restaurant was so upset...

My husband gave me a Mirbeau gift certificate for Mother's Day and I misplaced it. I called customer service, thinking it would be impossible to get a replacement gift card for $150. Lucky for me, I reached Sara, the goddess of customer service. Sara walked me through the process, including what she would need to ensure I would receive a replacement gift card (credit). My instructions were simple, have my husband, the original purchaser email Sara, and request a replacement. I let her know he would before the end of her shift, 8 p.m.
This is where REAL customer service kicks in, I forgot, she didn't! At the end of Sara's shift, she gently reminded me, she needed the information to complete the process.
Now, who takes the time to do extra work to help a customer, Sara!

I admit I was skeptical at first - my coworkers wanted to have a girls-weekend and when they told me it was the "Spa in the mall" I was a little weary. However, our time was INCREDIBLE! It's a hidden oasis that you would never know was in the mall. They have a full bar and cafe that you get to enjoy in your fancy cozy robe, mimosas you can sip in the lounge area, a relaxing quiet room (Which is great for napping). Now I'm headed back for a second time to enjoy all of the amenities and get to chat with the amazing employees at the Spa again. Albany's Spa Mirabeau is the best of the best!

PSA: The Albany location of Spa Mirbeau has a new policy...you can only arrive at the spa to use the facilities one hour before your treatment. Being a "spa rat" I was VERY disappointed to learn that use of the spa facilities has been constricted for guests. In most cases people come to relax, use the amenities, have lunch etc. and people want to enjoy these things without time constrictions. I have been a loyal customer of S.M. since it opened. I was ok with the increases to prices (they have raised prices since they opened). However, with this new policy I feel like I'll be taking my spa days to another business that has a similar pricing structure but does not limit my time/use of amenities. In my opinion this new policy is a serious lap in management judgment.

Don’t trust the pictures! They make it look much better than it is! The spa and “amenities” are a glorified bathroom with a sauna and steam room. The “aqua terrace” is a sad cramped outdoor hot tub with a hole in the wall that they call a bar. It’s an absolute waste of money, much better spent elsewhere.

You will be highly surprised that this spa is in a mall. Yes, you walk in the mall to get there, but once inside, you’re transported to a tranquil place. The staff are courteous and available with any questions. This spa is in mint condition throughout and everywhere smells amazing! The dry sauna is a bit on the small side for me (you can fit about 5 comfortably) but the steam sauna is larger. There are ample places to sit and relax, and I never once felt like it was overcrowded. The waiting room for services has super comforting beds and a relaxing fireplace and water fountain. You can come in here any time to relax or to wait for your spa service. The other open room with the hot tub is great too! There are so many places to sit and relax. Coffee, tea, and flavored water are in ample supply. I enjoyed a sandwich from the cafe and it was superb. My only criticism was that the staff didn’t make it clear which parts of the spa are co-Ed. The co-Ed section starts once you leave the locker room. This is just a good thing to know when you have a bathrobe on and maybe not too much underneath as you wait for your massage. Also, my therapist was just ok. I asked her not to touch my face and she did and then she spent an uneven amount of time on me, so one side was like 10 minutes and the other 5. That being said, I will absolutely come again. I might just get specific with my therapist.

My wife and I got a couples massage done on Sunday, February 9th and it was fantastic. The woman I had, Emma, was perfect and I'm definitely going to want her again. My wife loved hers as well but we can't remember her name. The atmosphere of the whole place was very nice and relaxing. We spent about 4.5 hours there between the message, hot tub and the cafe. The food at the cafe is very good as well, I had the French Dip and the truffle fries that came with it were amazing. My wife had some kind of chicken salad sandwich and that was huge and very delicious. We will definitely be back!

i went to the Spa when they first opened. I loved everything about the concept, but the services was so left handed it took away from making the experience a good one. It was so bad I got a refund for my day pass and my lunch. Knowing what to expect I was prepared to make the most out of it.
To my surprise management figured it out and now the experience is everything and more. The cleanliness, the gentle yoga class, the attentiveness from manager Jaleen and the entire guest service team. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staff. **ALL* A++ 5 star service!

AMAZING day @spamirbeaualbany ! Highly recommend. Lunch - shrimp and goat cheese salad, and this yummy drink - lavender infused it is for the summer. Then a dip in the hot tub, sauna, then off to a massage. This was followed by an hour in the relaxation room with a Eucalyptus chilled towel on my eyes and face. Then off to my facial. The aestheticians and massage therapists were awesome. #staycation2021 Thank you Angela D. and Ashley!

Overpriced for what you get.
The Good:
- Ambience is beautiful (as expected)
- Robes are more luxurious than others I’ve experienced
- Service rooms are very comfortable and pretty, including a gas fireplace in each one.
The Bad:
- Friendly greeting, but if I had not been to Canyon Ranch before, I think it would be overwhelming. Front desk woman pointed out things at a distance, rather than walk me through them.
- They did not have their water stations set up and I had a hard time finding water (I was thirsty upon arrival...being offered water at that time would feel welcoming). Turned out there were bottles of water at the Rest Area (and I saw bottles of water in lobby upon leaving, so it would have been easy to offer). Water was put out in the locker room at 9:45 AM. They open at 7am so perhaps they were being changed out, but I doubt it. I had to put my own toilet paper on the holder in a stall.
- Jacuzzi not available during my time there (at least 2 hours) because of being cleaned.
- Made my Feb 6 appt January 30. At that time, classes were at 9 AM so I thought I could get a class in before my facial (had scheduled it at 10am with that in mind), but when the February schedule came out (Jan 31?), the first class then started at 9:30 AM, which was impossible for me to do with a 10am appt.
- My esthetician, Katrina, retrieved me a little bit late and I was with her for more like 45 mins. They tell you to go into the "Rest Area" 10 mins before appt time. It was a relaxing atmosphere, but another client was late and her esthetician asked me more than once what my name was, assuming I must be her client, and interrupting my "rest" time.
- Surprisingly to me, Katrina did not have very good skin herself. This could mean she understands problem skin like mine, but I actually didn’t feel like she had an understanding of my skin. I was relieved to not have to fill out paperwork, but she did not even ask anything except allergies before she was about to put on a product.
- Katrina told me the bed would be toasty warm. It wasn't. She was thoughtful & gave me another blanket (she was concerned for my comfort). The bed with its heating element never got toasty. I was glad I warmed up in the sauna first.
- Katrina gave too much info before and after. I actually had to tell her it was overwhelming to me. I kind of couldn't wait to get out of there.
- You have to bring your robe & slippers out to front desk area & deposit in a basket that has a lid, which is stupid. You have to go through at least 1 door, and lift lids on each basket while hands are full and you may be groggy from a service.
- No matter how you slice it, you're still parking at a mall. Not pleasant, esp when most close spots are taken even on a quiet Tues morning.
- I did the CG Signature Intraceutical Facial which is all about hydrating and plumping skin with hyaluronic acid and oxygen. Katrina did warn me that it was very treatment-oriented, not a relaxation facial. So there was no rubbing, hand or foot treatment, massaging, steaming, or mask. 4 days later and there is no evidence that I got a facial, as is usually the case.
My conclusion is that it's not worth the price. The facial's usual price is $160 (which I think is the price of all their 50-min facials). My daughter gave me a $150 gift certificate. I got a 20% discount for a special they were running, and they put on a 20% gratuity on the original price of $160 so I had to pay $10 after my $150 GC. I would not have given Katrina 20%. So there was a designated $32 in tip alone when tipping should be at the discretion of the giver....defeats the whole purpose of tipping, IMO!
I can't believe I just spent $160 on a mediocre facial.
Seems the only way one might feel they are getting their money's worth is to take advantage of using the facilities all day when getting a service. Otherwise, there are better spas in the area. Since I promised my sister a spa day there, we will likely try someplace else.
