A calm and well preserved nature reserve that helps you get closer to wildlife. We enjoyed spotting animals including the Bulbul bird, Praslin snails, Tree Frogs and most exciting for us several large Green day Geckos in each of the three nature trails. You will not need the total of six hours suggested for the walks but a relaxing day... More

Vallée de Mai is Praslin Island nature reserve, inscribed in Unesco World Heritage as it is one of the few places where the famous coco de mer tree grows. In the reserve, nature and native vegetation are blooming, with palm trees (among others) offering a nice atmosphere, as well as some relief from the hot sun. Three different trails are... More

The Nature Reserve is beautiful and it is worth the trip to see the coco de mer as it is so unique to this place. However, it said on the flyer there were guided tours at 9.00 and 14.00. Don't take this for granted as we rushed to get there for 14.00 only to be told 'we don't do that... More

We went independently by taking a cab. We were told tours at 09.00 and 14.00 had a free guide. We arrived at 14.00 but all the guides were in a meeting. There is a small refreshment area where drinks and crisps can be bought and we sit and have a drink while checking out the trails. We see a tour... More

A nature reserve which feels like nature. Even though not that big. We loved it. The Coco de mer is the star of the show, and does not disappoint.

It was a nice 1.5 hour hike with pretty views. However it was over 25 euros per person and not really worth it. Very touristy and didn't see any unique wildlife. I would recommend doing a free hike on the island versus paying so much for this "rainforest".

This is one of the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites the Seychelles has listed (the other being the Aldabra Atoll) and it is here that the famous Coco de Mer grows. A true garden of eden, not to be missed!

10 Euro/ person is the entrance fee + another 10 if you want a guide. We choose for a guide and it was a good option. Our guide was very passionated and dedicated, was telling us the amazing story of the palm trees, accompanied by aroma sensations experience. We meet a lot of local spices, by smelling and sensing them.... More
