The remains of the place of worship are beautiful! I am in awe of the tiny tiles used to make elaborate mosaic designs in so many places in this area. After visiting, we have a better picture of where the swine ran down the hill...More

Made of black basalt with contrasting white limestone architectural elements, this beautiful church is set against the backdrop of the Sea of Galilee. Most of the mosaic floors are preserved although iconoclasts had a field day in antiquity. Make sure to climb up the side...More

This is 1 of 3 towns Jesus cursed - for their lack of faith. The only thing that grows in this town today is the Crown of Thorn trees! Amazing! To be in the synagogue that we know Jesus was in - can't put into...More

It's a small park, the site of a Byzantine church built on a spot where Jesus performed the miracle of the swine. The church is reconstructed. It has a typical semi-circular nave with a semi-spherical dome and well-preserved floor mosaics. Allow 30 to 40 minutes...More

A relatively small site but it provides some imporessive views from the eastern shore and some of the remains are impressive. Take plenty of water with you as - due to the location and it being below sea level - it can feel very hot.

The Kursi National Park is one of less visited archaeological site in the Holy Land, but historical and biblical importance. Here You really can see how was an ancient jewish village in the first century times.

This is the church marking the traditional spot where Jesus case demons out of a man casing them to enter a herd of pigs who then trew themselves over a cliff to their death. For years this site has been unavailable because of tensions between...More

More
