Mount Arbel is a mountain in The Lower Galilee near Tiberias in Israel, with high cliffs, views of Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights, trails to a cave-fortress, and ruins of an ancient synagogue. Mt. Arbel sits across from Mount Nitai; their cliffs were created...More

This is an Israel National Parks site. I would highly recommend going here first to orient yourself to the area. On a clear day, you can see Mount Hermon, and the Golan and all of the sites where Jesus taught. You can even hike to...More

Going up here gives an unparalleled view of the whole of the Sea of Galilee. Great point for giving an overview of the area that was the focal point for Jesus's ministry. There's good interpretation and signage; restrooms and refreshments at the car park.

It is something of a trek to the top; not good for anyone who has difficulty walking or climbing. But, for those who do walk up, the reward of the site is great.

A taxi dropped us off at the trail head. It was Sunday and not crowded, but we did eventually catch up with several groups of students. There didn't seem to be a way to get a map for the way up so we did have...More

I had heard about this park from previous visitors, but you have to see it to believe it. The views from the top of the cliffs of Arbel are some of the most fantastic in Israel. This is particularly true when one considers the significance...More

Our guide took us up to the park. It was an uphill climb but worth it. From the top of the cliff we saw the magnificent view of the valley and the Sea of Galilee. Although we didn’t stay long because the sun was setting,...More
