We spent a couple of hours in the Forest, visiting the Fortress, Pistachia valley (where you can pick pistachio nuts from the trees (in September) and peanuts from the bushes), driving on a scenic 12-km paved road, visiting the Naburiya synagogue ruins, and climbing the Fortress. At the Fortress, there is a water fountain, a beautiful view of the north,... More

We were the only visitors there at the time. The area was nicely maintained. We stopped at the Fort and climbed to the top. The view was lovely. The air was wonderful.

We came here by accident. We were diverted through the Biriya Forest by Waze in order to avoid snarling traffic jam at the Northern entrance to Tzfat during the intermediate days of Passover. We were pleasantly surprised by our detour though such the lovely shady forest, populated by cows and dotted with picnic tables. We enjoyed our spontaneous picnic lunch... More

We had a rental car, just opened the map and droved to view road there is inside the forest, it was a great way to observe the view of Galil mountains. A long the way you can see some other attractions but the main one is to drive along the road, crossing the forest.

Nice view, hiking and biking. You can find 4x4 tracks for jeeps. Interesting visit to Birya tower and museum.

While staying at the nearby Canaan Spa Hotel my brother-in-law and I decided to walk towards the Biriya forest. The area is well shaded with many trees planted during the last decades. We made our way up to the visitor’s center at Biriya Fortress. The place is an important landmark in the Jewish settlement of Israel. From the fortress lookout... More
