We stopped here shortly just to kind of see the tree. Our guide made the observation that these trees do not live that long however, he believed that a tree was simply replanted here consistently at the site to remember Zaccheus.

From our research, just like many sites in this region, there are multiple places that claim certain events in history. This site is one of a few that claim Zacchaeus' Tree. This tree is right off of a main street. There are many vendors wanting...More

It was fun reviving old Sunday School song "Zacchaeus was a wee little man, a wee little man was he...." Probably not 2,000 years old, though I know of a 2,000year old tree in Florida. Just stopped briefly for a picture.

The tree looked so old but imposing. To think that Jesus Christ actually spoke to Zacccheus and asked him to descending from the same tree really blessed me.

I dont think this was actually the tree that Zaccheus actually climbed, but it was great to visualise what it would have looked like and what the height was.

On the way from Jericho center to the Mount of Temptation you will find this very old but inconspicuous tree on the right side after some minutes walking. The only impressive is the story in the bible about Zaccheus and Jesus and the social meaning...More

This garden was amazingly pretty and peaceful. Whether or not Zachheus climbed this particular tree is debatable, but we enjoyed walking among the flowers and plants. We did not go into the Church, just visited the garden where the tree is located.

The grandson of the tree that Zaccheus climbed... maybe. A very old sycamore that was neat to see. Five minutes seemed the appropriate amount of time to take it all in. I could imagine a short man shimmying up the low branches.

Not the actual tree Zaccheus climbed, but tradition says it's the right spot, and it is a sycamore tree, said to be about 800 years old. Pleasant little park to sit and contemplate...

Worth the time to get a tour of the museum even though its small. Guide will provide lots of information that otherwise is not available.

Once again, my information was based on our local guide's commentary; this point in the town is a very popular stop-off for tourists and it is an opportunity to re-visit the gospel's narrative. I don't consider it too... More
