I live in the Bay Area, CA. My husband had business in Israel so I tagged along and hired Nico for a day to take me from Tel Aviv, to Nazareth, to Galilee, and back. We spent the whole day together, 8 am - 5:30 PM. Nico is professional, courteous, passionate about history, knowledgeable about archeology, the region, religion, current affairs. He was a very safe driver, was with me often but also gave me a bit of time to take in things alone, always waiting for when I finished. It was a wonderful day and I learned so much. He is also good at recommending itineraries that are full, but not too much.I highly recommend him.

We were fortunate to find Nico! From the initial contact, his communication with us was outstanding. We expressed what services we needed and he went beyond to meet our needs! We were able to spend about 10 days with this very knowledgeable, articulate, educated guide. His degrees in archeology assisted with providing an in-depth experience that was phenomenal! We toured almost all of Israel with the exception of the far south due to lack of time. He was always prompt and willing to accommodate.
This trip was my husband’s fourth to Israel. He said that the previous guides that he had did not compare with Nico’s knowledge. We will continue to use Nico’s services upon our return to Israel since he is the very best guide that you can get!!!
We highly recommend Nico’s services!!! His knowledge of all of Israel is amazing!!

Very lucky to have Nico as our guide for 4 consecutive days. He organized a private tour for just the 2 of us throughout Israel that was perfect for us. Lots of archaeology and no shopping!
As a preview before the tour, he took me to see old Jaffa and showed me the museum of antiquity beneath the Kedumim Square. His knowledge of history and archaeology made the tour a great learning experience.
Day 1 took us from Tel Aviv to Nazareth, sites around the Sea of Galilee, and Jesus' baptism site at the River Jordan, before ending up in Jerusalem. His knowledge of the Christian sites is amazing and his explanation of the architecture of the many churches that preserved those sites provides great insights of the history.
Day 2 was spent around the Old City of Jerusalem. We got to see all the significant sites and we learned a lot about Jewish, Christian, and Muslim history there. Nico showed us the tombs of Arimathea and Nicodemus in the lower level of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre that are more representative of the tombs in the first century. As a bonus, we got to taste the best falafel in the Muslim Quarter and broke bread in the room where Jesus had the last supper with his disciples.
Day 3 was spent visiting Masada, the Dead Sea, and the Qumran caves. The landscape is beautiful and the history most rich. He took us down to one of the water storage cisterns and showed us the amazing acoustics inside by singing a few bars of the Ave Maria.
Day 4 took us to En Kerem, the birthplace of John the Baptist; Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, and Caesaria, where King Herod built a palace, a temple dedicated to Augustus, an amphitheater, and other structures.
Nico is a great teacher and shows the wonderment of discovery every time he finds a piece of ceramic or mosaic from antiquity. We felt completely safe with him taking us around Israel and learned a lot from him.
Highly recommends him if you don't want to see Israel with a cookie cutter group tour.

We had a great 2-hours Jaffa tour with Nico. I had the challenge to engage a large group of Germans visiting Israel for the first time and Nico did an amazing job taking us over the many stories Jaffa hold. I highly recommend for everyone (and if you have more time, consider taking a longer tour, it's really that good!)

We want to thank Nico for helping us explore Israel. At different occasions we visited Tel Aviv, Newe Zedek & Old Jaffa, Jerusalem Old City, Caesarea & Haifa. We did Tel Aviv & Jaffa as walking Tour and the rest with comfortable transport that Nico arranged for us. He was a carefull driver & on the way while traveling through the country never missed explaining about different places with Historical, Biblical or Archaeological importance. Occasionaly he offered us to stop on the way to take great pictures. As a Guide we couldnt get better. bedside being s licensed experienced Tour Guide, Nico has 2nd degree in History & Archeology which was a great bonus for us, without paying extra. He had great knowledge about ancient & modern history of Israel & answer all our questions. By returning to Israel we definitely gonna ask Nico to continue our exploration in this beautiful country. Highly Recommending Nico if you want to have a little more then just a regular Guide.

We were two families, three adults and five teenagers. Nico managed to get us all interested in everything we saw, shedding light and laughter as we walked through old Jaffa, then the newer part of Jaffa, to end up in the south of Tel Aviv. He seemed to know everything about everything. His background in archeology and his own digging in the area gave much depth to all of his explanations.
In a certain area of old Jaffa he bent down and picked up a piece of old ceramic that looked like any other. He then explained that this is a remnant of some pottery that is thousands of years old and that just happens to be lying about all over the place.
I would highly recommend Nico to anyone who's interested in a fun and deep learning experience. We had the tour given in English, but I had the chance to speak to him in fluent Hebrew, so I don't doubt that he would do well there as well.

One Saturday I went with my girlfriend to a short visit in Tel Gezer which is an ancient site with settlements from many historical periods that go back to the Bronze Age and even older. We were lucky enough to join Nico’s group by chance as I met with a friend that was on there... this made this visit really memorable and fun as Nico knows everything about this place (and many other sites) from the stones them selves to updates on academic debates and archeological finds.
We felt really welcome in the group and I could chat with Nico even we weren’t a part of this group! since then we are waiting for a chance to join to the next tour. going to these sites with a guide like Nico really makes a difference!

Nico was a wonderful guide on our full day tour to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. He collected a small group of us from our hotel stay in Tel Aviv and was instantly sharing his extensive knowledge of the region and its history during the drive and throughout the day. He also planned our day so that we did not feel rushed and were very at ease with his driving and touring style. He took into account what was of particular interest to us and was able to answer our many questions. For a reliable, safe and knowledge filled experience with a very kind tour guide of Jerusalem and beyond, Nico is the way to go!

We did two different tours with Nico. Absolutely fantastic. His knowledge and "tailored" approach to teaching the beauty of the sites, the significance of an object to all faiths, and the history of the relatively new country of Israel was unparalleled. We did a tour with a larger company on a different open day, But if your reading this, invest the extra money on a private tour. Nico did not, and will not disappoint. Truly 5 stars . Just book it
