The Jaffa Lighthouse is in Simon the Tanner Alley, on a hill near the city of Jaffa. The Lighthouse has been a feature of Jaffa since Ottoman times. It's easy to spot, it has concentric red and white bands. The lighthouse was constructed to guide boats which were carrying oranges, Jaffa's most famous export.

The small Jaffa lighthouse is currently being renovated, so there's nothing much to see there, other than the scaffoldings.

The history of this lighthouse is a very interesting one and you should go to see it even if you aren't able to get in, which I was not, but there are signs on the wall explaining a bit more about it

It easily to notice if you are on the promenade, near de Old Jaffa. Not a tourists attraction in itself, but you can take beautiful photos.

The lighthouse is quite peculiar for its small size. It is quite discreet but charming. The authorities should pay more attention to its maintenance. Enjoy!

This is a small old area, where the best parts are what Israelies has done with it, yet it is a hill area with many steps and not much to see other then same old streets and a crowded rusty small old port. It is still serving the local fishermen and market for the restaurants, but in comparison to the one in Tel Aviv itself where we felt much more welcomed with modern shops and ample parking and similar much cleaner port and roomy grounds - more acti

walking thru Jaffa - the streets often open up for a perfect view of a sight thru alley way or door - this area is rearding in what it has to offer - around each corner - enjoyed the sight of the lighthouse peaking out from behind wall - close to the door of Simon the Tanner - Bibical - from scripture - important

This lighthouse replaced an Ottoman one. It is a bit hard to find as it is down near the port and it is not in great decorative order.

You have to search and wind your way to find this lighthouse if you are walking around Jaffa. When you find it you can get a scenic photo while at the port on the edge of the city.
