The Ilana Goor Museum, distinct in its dual purpose as both the gallery and private home of the artist, is a uniquely hidden gem in the old city of Jaffa. Housed in a historically rooted eighteenth-century structure, the museum allows visitors to see and feel the eclectic collection of famous Israeli sculptor Ilana Goor with Old Jaffa as a background storyline and setting. Within the walls of the beautifully-renovated structure lay over 500 artworks, both by Goor herself and by guest Israeli and international artists included in the museum collection. For the first time in Israel, you have the opportunity to admire works of art from the point of view of the artist/collector rather than as exhibits in a sterile academic environment. Despite the Museum's eclectic nature, each room features creations from different places and times. Each work of art has a different background and a story all its own. The Museum's uniqueness lies in the unexpected contexts generated by each artist, both on the human and on the visual level.

This is a very nice museum created by the love and passion of artist Ilana Goor. It is eclectic, a bit of a jungle but very interesting. It is in an 18th century well renovated building. Ilana Goor collected art for over 50 years.

As someone who lives in Jaffa, I sometimes go to the old jaffa and see the place. One of the best places I go often is the museum of Ilana Goor which is in her house. The sculptures you can see there are so beautiful made by her. There are 4 levels of sculptures in her house which is very... More

Absolutely blown away by this multi faceted art collection in Llana Goor's own house. The placing of the art is an art installation in its own right. Goor's work is present throughout the house but surrounded by objects of beauty and weirdness from around the globe. Utterly unmissable in my view. The house itself is sublimely renovated and worth visiting... More

The walls of this museum in Old Jaffa date back over 280 years when it was the first Jewish inn for pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem. In the early nineties, Ilana Goor bought the building, which now displays her fantastic art collection. It is an architectural jewel with lovely views of the Mediterranean Sea. There is also a gift... More

this is a quirky museum located in beautiful old Jaffa building with amazing waterfront views. Ilana Goor's sculptures are very cool -- especially the animals and insects. There are 4 levels of artwork -- see them all. She had different styles over a long career.

Peruse several floors of Goor's art, jewelry, furniture, and personal collection. You'll enjoy a broad blend of art and antiques including an enormous chandelier purchased from a mosque, a sarcophagus (or two), and detailed furnishings from Damascus. Do not miss her kitchen and patio that overlook the Mediterranean Sea. There are tables and chairs. Enjoy the breeze! *There is a... More

I absolutely loved this museum in Jaffa. There is plenty to see and a wonderful roof terrace with views over Jaffa. There is a small admission charge and you can use a booklet to look around. Located over several floors this place is a delight. I really like Ilana Goor's way of having everything on show and in touching distance.... More
