The fascinating story behind the recovery and restoration of this boat is worth the time to visit. The boat itself is simple, but the process of getting it out of the Sea of Galilee and on display is well told in this small museum.

Again, an amazing surprise. What a tremendous effort to relocate the remains of the ancient biblical times fishing boat ands what a story to remind is about the biblical history of Galilee

Make sure you see the movie to explain the history and significance. Then the boat will be that much more amazing. 2000 years old!

In 1986 an excavation for the Israel Department of Antiquities and Museums found a 2,000-year-old boat that had been buried in the Sea of Galilee’s clay bottom.

Especially for Christians this is powerful. The presence of God was so strong. Great crew. Felt safe. In total it would be about one hour in.length. highlight of my trip so far.
