Falls flat as an attraction
Nov 2018 • Friends
It is a visually appealing attraction that falls flat as an inviting attraction, as it seems to be closed very often and misses the opportunity to tell a really good story

Mildly interesting
Dec 2018 • Couples
Interesting to see the style of station architecture and an old British manufactured steam engine on what is now an isolated short section of track.

Perhaps we'd've found it more engaging if we'd had a guide or a leaflet with more background, but still interesting enough.

20 minutes sufficed.

See some history...
Aug 2018 • Family
This was one our stops on a family walking tour of the Old City in Beersheba. We did not go in - the site was closed when we were there (middle of a weekday? odd...), but we just enjoyed seeing a piece of history. There is also a small memorial to Turkish soldiers who died.

Okay to see
Mar 2018
This is okay to see if one have time, but really nothing special without a strong background interest in Beer Sheva history. I thin it will be okay to hear a whole story and drive to see w/o stopping.

From another time and place: Engine 70414
Dec 2017 • Family
Strategically placed near the old Ottoman train station which has been renovated and serves as a small strolling park, the engine looks authentic enough because it is. But, apparently it isn't one of the engines which pulled Turkish trains around the area.
Nice enough for a quick stop but not worth making a special trip. Unlike the train stations in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, there is nothing going on here.

History of Engine 70414
Jan 2018
For me, the History of Engine 70414 was new. And I have lived in Israel for 50 years!
This site, built by the city of Beersheba, is a reconstruction of the original Ottoman railroad station, together with the famous Engine 70414. Good tour guide (part of the entrance fee), together with close-to-authentic reconstruction, made the visit great. Worth buying the double ticket together with Abraham site. The height of the tour is the "modern" history of Engine 70414- and its political implications. No spoiler here- go and see it yourself!

A TRIP BACK IN TIME
Nov 2017
The famous locomotive ( by a H Hefer song sung by Arik Lavie ) is part of the restored Beer Sheva train station that was build by the Turks during World War I and then used by the British . It has an activity center, and a small railroad museum as well as other options for the visitor including a restaurant, Great for the whole family. Plenty of adjacent parking.

Nothing special
Oct 2017
After visiting the restored train stations in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, the one in Beer Sheva is a disappointment. While it's always nice to see a piece of history, there's nothing exciting to do there and plus there aren't really restaurants as well.

Nice Place with no activity
May 2017 • Family
Nice reconstructed site of Turkish Engine. the place is well built, but beside one (only one) local restaurant there is nothing to do if there is no festival of any kind....

Toot! Toot!
Aug 2016 • Family
Fun for the whole family. Tours are given in English and Hebrew. Also activities for children in one of the trains. Free outdoor concerns in the summer.
