This airforce museum tells the whole story of the Israeli Air Force since it's origin till today. Maybe the whole story of the Israeli Defence Forces that were allways suported by the air force. The Anttebe resque operation and other developments related to combat airplanes שמג שןר ד/ושגרםמדץ

Some miles outside of Beersheba the museum is set in spacious grounds making it possible to view the aircraft from every angle.Explanations were clear and in almost every case in English as well as Hebrew. Inevitably security was strong but highly efficient and in no way obtrusive. A very good aerial presentation of a young country with an unashamed pride inits armed forces. Well worth a visit.

I so much was interested in seeing this exibit that I was tremendously disappointed.
We drove 2 hours to see this museum mainly because I was such a fan of the accomplishments of the Israeli Air Force and have visited several aviation museums before throughout the states. I don't mean to compare museums in the states to Israel but when I have visited museums in the states, the condition of the aircraft look as if you could add fuel and fly them away. Here it is like touring an old bone yard. The condition of the aircraft is terrible with many dirty or missing parts. Look closely at the photos of the museum and you will see planes and vehicles on display with flat tires and tall grass growing around the exibits. Its like no one is even trying to make this an attractive exibit. Some of the displays are nothing more than an old rusty engine or a wrecked vehicle. We literaly saw the entire exibit and walked out within 30 mins.
It wouldn't think it would be hard to get a volunteer group or group of cadets to volunteer to clean up some of the displays. If I lived there I would volunteer myself. There has to be retired aircraft mechinics willing to repair some of the aircraft.
I am sorry to give a bad impression of this place but I was so disappointed that they would even charge for admission. I think its just a shame that these famous aircraft are left in such a state of disrepair.

I visited the museum a few days ago and came away saddened. Having worked at an aircraft museum for a number of years I was expecting much more. The museum itself with its history and exhibits has so much potential and could be an amazing and educational experience but the site is badly neglected. The aircraft left outside (thank goodness the de Havilland Moth is undercover) are deteriorating with paintwork flaking and rust on the metal, information boards; absent, fallen down or faded so badly that it is hard to read them and exhibitions sorely in need of attention. In its current state I feel the museum will only appeal to aircraft or military history enthusiasts. I hope that one day the government and the tourist industry will finally realise what a positive contribution this museum could be to the local tourist industry and give it the investment and the attention it needs to bring this fascinating slice of history to life.

The story of the Israelian Airforce with the exhibition of the aircrafts that took part in the existence of the state of Israel.
You will be guide by young Israeli Airforce soldiers (boys or girls) that will tell you the story.
Most of the exhibition is outside, so be expect hot sun. Take hat and water with you.
Best to visit at spring or autumn.

An out of the way visit, but as many times as i have been to Israel, this was a new one. Not a long stop, you are docented by an active Airforce member doing their national service. Great planes that show the hx of the IDF airforce.

Apparently they are building a new museum. In the meantime, wha's there is an antiquated collection of some very impressive airplanes, etc. If you are an airplane or military history buff and cannot wait for the new facility to be constructed, then go for it.

This site is a must for those interested in the history of the IDF with the IAF in particular. One can see and learn about some very unique Israeli experienes including the one winged F-15 and the prototype Lavi. Kids can play in some of the old planes.

What are the hours, admission price, and special activities or attractions for the Passover holiday – specifically Thursday 13 April 2017

The museum is outside of Beer Sheva, a little past Kibbutz Hatzerim. I suggest using a GPS or WAZE. However, another tip is to follow the airplanes ... situated on the road pointing out the way.

Hi, What is the entrance fee and what is the easiest way to get there from Jerusalem?
Written May 11, 2016
Hello,
The entrance fee is 30 shekels for adults, 20 shekels for kids 3-13, and 23 shekels for students w/ ID card from school. The easiest way from Jerusalem is to use waze;) but if you want directions: take the 1 road toward Tel Aviv, get off at the Anava interchange to 431 and continue to the 6 south at the Nesharim interchange. Then continue south on the 6 until you reach Beersheva the 6 will turn into the 40 then the 406. Turn right at the first intersection, and continue straight until you reach the 2357 then make a right. continue to just about the end of the road and the museum will be on your left.
Good Luck!
