Looks like a derelict building site. Nothing to see at all. The guide will scam you for upwards of 150000 for a so called sacred egg to feed some eel. Then he’ll want another 50000 min as a tip. Thoroughly disappointing, save your time and money.

As part of our week long stay in Lombok we took a trip here using the services of Lombok Friendly tour & travel. Interesting history and very nice atmosphere. Nice to see that multiple religions can co-exist.

Beware of cunning guide
Jul 2019 • Couples
Interesting temple of both Hindu and Islam faiths.

I paid 10k IDR at entrance as donation. Was given yellow sash to wrap around my waist.

Did not buy egg for feeding eel. That is when guide was not happy.

After the tour I gave the guide 40k IDR for his service. He asked for additional 50k IDR for rental of yellow sash. He put it in his wallet!

Guides are spoiling this place.

Perang Ketupat, a unique tradition both for Moslem & Hindust
Nov 2018 • Friends
Perang Ketupat is a unique tradition that have been celebrated for generations anually at the month of Prophet Mohammade was bornt.
There is part of the Temple which are used by Moslem & Hindust side by side. Both Hindus & Moslem celebrate in their own way.
Btw the temple care taker are moslems.
After the ceremony of Moslem & Hindust walked around the Temple with offering then the war is begin. They fight by throwing the rice cake (ketupat/ rice cooked in woven coconut leaves) at each other.. the gamelan played make the celebration merrier.
I have watched it so many times and this time my attention was the pretty ladies in exotic kebaya with their colorful boxes they carry to bring the offering. The movement of prayer up and dowm the staircases. Daddy's and daughter. Come if you are nearby or interested in tradition & culture.
Actually the village it self is a nice place to visit. Need a local friend to go around

A heritage that will always be beautiful to look after and to visit
Jul 2018 • Family
This temple is the symbol of Pancasila, unity in diversity, what Indonesian beileve in. We visited this temple this month, despite all the irrespinsible hoax on social media that made people of lombok so scarry about sunday earthquake. We found cheap ticket and lew direct to lombok exactly to visit in this time of need. We saw some locals still sleeping on tents on this temple yard, and we felt a deep empathy as fellow human. Together with my guide who tried to explain the history of the temple, i have the urge to say in this forum: i believe they will soon fix some part, nothing can destroy the beauty of this temple and the value from the history. More people should come with a hand offering at least mental support for the people who lost their home. When everything gets better, this temple will be beautiful as it was again. At least we could see Rinjani right behind the shrine.

Unity in diversity
Jun 2018 • Friends
This temple is rich with history and legend. To understand local culture and history is to enrich our knowledge. More than justbtourist sightseeing, it also tells some moral. I can learn from the way people from different religion can live in harmony praying at the same place. As indonrsian i really see our ideology... Unity in diversity. A must visit place if you come to lombok.

I would not make this a destination but if you are nearby, stop by. There is not much to see. When the tour guides talk about three levels, it is three tiers, not a building that is three stories tall.

May 2018 • Couples
The driver brought us to the temple. There was a guide who seemed friendly but when we where in the temple he kept asking for money for every little building. He also insulted muslims and when he saw us reaction he was like: oh now I didnt meant that. Later he asked money again. I gave em 50.000 and he acted insulted. Then after we left he asked for money again the whole time. This man is terrible dont fall for this. You can better avoid this place!!!

Not worth a detour
May 2018 • Couples
We went there a few days ago. They insisted a guide was necessary. The information was interesting, but it quickly turned into a scam - or at least it felt like one. Supposedly you don't have to pay an entrance fee but should consider a donation. However, the donation was mandatory and the guide insisted in being paid as well. He became rude, looked at our 'donation' as if it wasn't enough - our driver couldn't believe we paid that much - and all the kindness was gone.
