The place is for local to gather to spend the evening and relaxing. Playing, walking by the beach or sit to watch the sun set. Not so spectacular but we really love the place. There are place for children to play, kolam pancing. So many food and snack to choose from. Grilled Sweetcorn, dougnat, pastel etc. Urap, pelecing, sate seafood and sate baduk/usus and many kind seafood to choose from. Many stall to sit. Away from the beach where we are safe from the wind or just by the beach...you can get the splash from the wave 😊. The sunset here is pretty. One of the reason to come. There is nice clean mushalla to pray if you want to stay longer but do not want to miss magrib. Ampenan Beach is used to be a seaport before it moves to Lembar. You can see the remnants of the pier in the near distance. You will pass china town on the way…

Went there few time to have our favourite “ikan bakar with pelecing” and also my all time favourite “jagung bakar” with sweet and spicy sauce.. also a nice place to watch sunset while having your “kopi hitam”.. nice memories.

mostly, local or domestic visitors fulfilled this place. To watch sunset, enjoy seafood, or just relaxing and feel the breeze of the beach wind. Located in Old Mataram City, this place used to be a pier but now set as public place to spend time with family or friends

Looks quiet polluted, there are still some remanents of the old Pier that is rusting away into the ocean, Waves are dumpy

After a full day visiting the market or malls of Mataram city, take a short ride (best with a bike) to Ampenan before sunset and book a spot facing the sea, towards the end of the esplanade where access to the best local food selection (the corner stall behind the last seafront stall) is the easiest. Get satay, grilled squid or fish, spicy crab, tempe, salads etc for a relaxed dinner. …
