I had such a nice guide who took the time to tell the story of this Islamic Center; the building of it and what kind of impact the earthquaks of 2018 had, which was very sad to hear. The place has a nice positive vibe and accepting all cultures and religions. The view is veeery good, only this is worth it!

I’m not into religious buildings but this place is huge and stunning. Lombok is known as the land of one thousand mosque’s (I’m sure there are more than that). This is the only mosque on Lombok that received government funding, all others were built and financed by there patronage.

All muslims visitors from outside Lombok should visit it though it may be a little far away. Beside having the opportunity for performing sunnat prayer, You would be impressed by its design and decor.

My wife and young boy visited the Islamic Centre while in Mataram. We are non-Muslim and found the security to be extremely friendly and helpful. They were very proud of the building. You can catch a lift to the top of one of the towers for the best view over Lombok- 113m high. If in Mataram you must visit. It was free to walk around. We paid to go to the top of the tower, a security guard took us, took photos for us, and explained all about the centre.

Being not a muslim this was a. interesting visit for us.Tour guide speak english and supply proper clothing for entry into mosque 🕌

I went here mentally prepared that it would be crowded and touristic. the buildings are BEAUTIFUL. Good places to take great pictures.
Easy to spend about 1-2h. Be prepare it's packed with people. Have PATIENCE to stand in line for 30-40min and don't buy tickets beside from the counter. Good day to go when it's raining.

Nice architecture, impressive building, however also very damaged by the earthquake. I hope it will get fixed asap. I just put a sarong around me and wore a headscarf, no problems getting in. My husband and I experienced some of the most heart warming hospitalities ever. Greetings to the beautiful three teenage girls who took a picture with us. You made this an unforgettable experience!!

My wife and I went early to visit the central center Mosque in Mataram, Lombok. It was a little after 9am and there was only one other couple there. It was a very peaceful and moving experience. We went up an elevator to see a breath taking panoramic of the city. Afterward, we went inside the mosque and we were in awe. Beautiful and intricate design. A lovely place to visit.
Also, there are many places to eat close by in case you are hungry.
