We initially planned to visit Pantai Madalika Kuta, Pantai Aan and Pantai Mawun. When we arrived to Pantai Mandalika Kuta we were disappointed that development has crept on. The beach is still lovely but it was not what we expected. We then diverted towards Pantai Aan and found that the access road was closed (construction of the MotoGP circuit and facilities we reckon). Our driver then decided to bring us to Pantai Mawun.

IT WAS AH-MA -ZING!!!!

Beautiful cove. Aquamarine waters of different shades, some fishermens’ boats. Few people except locals and 2 Spanish speaking visitors. A little sad to look at d amount of rubbish that was brought by the waters .... but the water is still lovely. Do visit this beach as soon as possible. With MotoGP starting here in 2021 things will be way different soon.

In my opinion this is the best beach in Lombok in terms of the view. The beach is little bit dirty. Must visit place in Lombok.

The pictures speak for themselves. This beach had the worst rubbish problem I have ever seen on a beach. It was really heartbreaking to see what would have been a beautiful beach 30 years ago now looking like this.

We went here in the evening in October so it was very quiet. There were mainly locals swimming and doing a little surfing. There are rocks near the centre of the shore so I don't think it's entirely safe to go surfing(if you are not very experienced).
The beaches in Kuta and Southern Lombok are all really beautiful, so we were extremely impressed. A few people tried to sell us things here, but it's not a big deal, they are just trying to make a living. (you get that everywhere in Indonesia). There was a small entrance fee of less than a dollar. (no big deal). There are a few amount of huts to get food and beers, but it's not overly constructed, which is nice. We definitely recommend this beach to relax and chillout.

Its a nice secluded bay, but you do get harassed as soon as you arrive. If you like calmer water walk around the bay to the right where it is more protected and the water doesn't drop off and have dumpers on the shore.

Mawun Beach is one of many excellent beaches along the south coast of Lombok. Locals have everything you are likely to need including budget priced meals and drinks to enjoy a relaxing day. Visit and enjoy !

Wonder how those poctures and up lookin so good.
Water and beach are dirty with plastic and other rubbish. Entering water u see even more rubbish around. Kiddies are bothering everywhere. ( i mean bothering type like taking your headphones and than trying to sell em back to you) entering the beach on bike is 10000rp that go anywhaere but not towards beach clean up
When i aske lady trying to sell us sunbeds why its so dirty she said “ no coral can swim” (they jist dont see it i guess) Wouldnt eat or drin anything there for any cost.
Wasted 90 min here- i recommend you dont waste your time.

Mawun Beach was good to see and enjoy for a few hours. The beach is like nothing I’ve seen before, big mountains all around it. Small waves and then deep water very close to shore. Like almost all of the beaches in Lombok it has; some rubbish that washes ashore, some hawkers trying to sell you sarongs or bracelets, some stray dogs and a fee (usually IDR10k) for the local people or village for using the beach. There are several warungs and there are sun lounges and umbrellas to use/rent. It wasn’t very busy.

Quite good to access, 5 K parking ticket. Lovely place to stay for a few hours. When we were there it was nearly impossible to swim because of the strong current.

Wide & white sandy beach.
The water is amazingly blue & clear. Apparently the local said the water can be clearer.

Good road to get here.
Still very quite.
Fantastic place to be.
