I went up Rinjani with Rinjani mission, and it was totally fantastic! Our guide Josi looked after us so well, told us loads of cool stories, was really environmentally conscious and made sure we didn’t leave behind any trace of our camp, and was great to chat to. Our porters were also really friendly, carried up tents, cooked food and made our camp on the crater before we even got there! We watched the sunset over the mountains next to a campfire. Opick organised evrything really smoothly. Totally recommend

My boyfriend and I decided to do the trekking of Mt. Rinjani for our holidays. Friends of ours did the trekking already with Rinjani Mission and they strongly recommended us to do it with them. Therefore, we decided to follow their advices.
We had a guide and porters who were always there for us, anytime, anywhere, which was really pleasant. The porters are real heros.
We had amazing food, always extremely well decorated and really yummy. As well as that, we slept in a tent that was extremely confortable. We had zero difficulty to find sleep. Nothing felt like camping, as we thought it would, but rather like luxury !
We we’re able to do breaks whenever we feel the need to. Everything was based around us and our needs.
In consequence, I thank Rinjani Mission for their constant kindness and for having taking care of us that well at anytime. We lived a truly dream by your side and I am really sad that it ended. You made our trip to Lombok the best one with the trekking of Mt. Rinjani. We’ll come back to Lombok when our legs will have had some rest and will definitely do the trekking of the volcano with you again. Thank you endlessly !

We had an amazing experience on our 3 day hiking tour with our guide Opick! The scenery is breathtaking with all the different views at the summit, the lake and its volcano in the middle. The porters and guides did a perfect job and were always in a good mood. They took care of everything and seemed very experienced. Even though some parts of the trek were quite exhausting, they always knew how to motivate the group and supplied us with delicious meals and snacks. I would definitely recommend Rinjani Mission to everyone!

We did a 2 days 1 night tour with Rinjanimission to the crater rim. It was a great experience hiking up Mt. Rinjani, one of the highlights of our holiday.
The day before the trip, we were picked up from Bangsal Harbour and were brought to a really nice accomodation in Senaru. There, we met Opick, the organizer of the whole trip. We got a free welcome drink and Opick explained us the route for the trip on the next day.
After a short rest at the room, we wanted to see the waterfalls in Senaru, so a guide accompanied us there and we could take a shower under the beautiful waterfalls.
The next day, we got up at 7 a.m., had some breakfast and started hiking at 8 a.m. Robi, our guide, was very friendly and we talked a lot to him. He told us about the life of the people in Lombok, the coffee making and the monkeys. He even took some beautiful pictures. Most of the time, we walked through the jungle. Even though we had little training, we were able to complete the hike in about 7 hours in total. On the way, the porters cooked great lunch and we always got some cookies at the short breaks from our guide.
When we arrived at the crater rim, we were very exhausted, but the view at the crater lake and the top of Mt. Rinjani was incredible. In the afternoon, the porters cooked fried bananas for us and we got some tea or coffee.
Afterwards, we could see the beautiful sunset directly from our camping site.
Later it became very windy, so we hid in the tent. The porters and our guide were so friendly to bring us our dinner, so we could eat it inside the tent. After watching the beautiful stars in the milky way, we went to sleep. The night was also very windy, but because of the sleeping bags, we didn‘t have to freeze.
In the morning, we got up at 6 a.m. to see the first sunrays, had breakfast and after getting our backpacks ready, we started walking down. It took about 4 hours and we had very good lunch again. The walk down was very dusty, so we recommend to bring wet wipes and a breathing mask. We also want to mention, that we really appreciate, that the guide and the porters took all of waste back down to ensure the cleanliness of the Rinjani National Park.
After returning to our accomodation of the first day, we could wash up and change clothes and afterwards, we were brought to Kuta. (everything included in the price)
All in all, we had a great trip and an experience, we will never forget. We really recommend doing this tour, especially with Rinjanimission.

We did a three day trek with Opick, who was the greatest guide ever. Every member of the crew was very helpful and offered to provide everything we needed to make the most of our trip and were always joyful. The food was delicious and the crew was helpful as well when we experienced altitude sickness.
Opick is a great motivator and always found the right words to get us at the top of the crater. His wise soul helped us get an accurate perspective on Indonesia's culture and the local reality. The crew also made us feel safe at all times.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience! The feeling of this trek was so amazing that we even got engaged on the mountain.
Thank you Rinjani Mission!

Hey,
In the late summer 2017 I did a 2 nights/3 days tour up to the rinjani mountain with two friends. We had a very nice guide and 4 porters. All 5 were very open and friendly. The guide did an amazing job in motivating us to never give up on this very exhausting trip. The trip was planned very well. They had lots of food and water, nice tents and sleepping bags, chairs and a table and lots of other stuff. This trip is one of the most amazing moments in my life and I will never forget the moment when you arrive in the camp on top of the mountain after 7 hours of trekking. The trip is very exhausting but totally worth the trekking. The view from the first camp is stunning. I would recommend the tour to everyone who will visits Lompok/Indonesia.

My partner and I decided to climb the Rinjani for my 30th, sadly we had to stick to the crater rim as the Summit is closed but this was with absolutely no regret!
It was an amazing experience and Opick organise everything for us and even made the effort to drive to meet us before the day 1.
We had an amazing time, Robby our guide was 100% our highlight of the journey. He is so friendly and will help you to make you smile and laugh during some tough parts of the hike. Even our porters were amazing and the food they cook was always fresh and yum.
Thank you for this fantastic experience, we will be back for the summit!

Firstly, the locations are amazingly stunning. People at Rinjani Mission was very patience with our changes in our travel plan. They also gave us very good rates on hotels for our extra nights. They crew that took us to the island was super friendly, they cook and clean for us . Camping has never been so comfortable with thick foam matt in our tent plus sleep bags which we didnt have to use at all because the matt was already very comfortable. Food was always big portion and we have to tell them to give us smaller portions. My favourite part is the fruits, they always have generous serving of fruits which is good for my anxious bowel patterns that comes with travelling. We had fun and was very satisfied with Rinjani Mission.
Cheers
Malik.

If you are considering to hike Mount Rinjani we recommend to do it with Rinjani Mission.
We made the 2D/1N tour in May 2019. The summit was not open because of earthquake, otherwise we would have done 3D/2N.
Opick organized our trip very well. Before the first trekking day we spent one night in Senaru where he picked a little authentic homestay with a great restaurant. We rent all the equipement (tent, sleeping bags, head lamp, raincover) and everything was clean and in very good condition!
Ask for Bri as a guide, he is such a nice guy and his funny and chatty nature got us through the tough parts of the hiking. He was also really responsible and is by the way a great singer.
Our two porters were also really friendly and caring and made yummy freshly cooked dishes and even vegan options for me. There was always plenty of water, food, snacks, fruit, tea, coffee...
Overall this trip is an unique experience in incredible nature and a great way to support and connect to the locals. We really recommend it!

My partner and I hiked Mt Rinjani with Rinjani Mission in October 2019. The communication between myself and Opick (tour organiser) was swift and informative.
Our tour guide Robi and our driver met us at the Lombok harbour despite delays with the fast boat transfer from Denpasar which was great.
A point of note is that despite myself (female) being the contact with the organiser it was my partner (male) who they preferred to speak to. This may be a reflection of the culture, but a point to consider if you are a group of females/a solo female traveller.
The guest house in Senaru that we stayed in prior to the hike was basic but did the job. Note there is no wifi, and the call to prayer can be heard from the accommodation very loudly, but this is to be expected for the region - just take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Minimal choices for meals in the area.
The hike itself was very challenging, due to the heat and the intensity of the route. We departed at 7:30am and reached the Crater Rim at 3:30pm. Note the area of the crater rim does have quite a lot of miscellaneous rubbish left by prior hikers but the porters do their best to find you a camping spot clear from same.
The meals cooked by our porters were excellent and very filling. They also supplied copious amounts of snacks and water.
The views from the rim were sensational and we loved watching the sunset from above the clouds!
It got quite cold over night so I would recommend you bring a warm jumper.
Robi was eager to get great photos of us on the rim which was appreciated! He’s a great photographer.
Overall I recommend Rinjani Mission to those looking to conquer the Crater Rim of Mt Rinjani, if you are looking for good service with humble provisions.
