    OMG!
OMG! My expectations were set really high regarding those super positive comments here for Matcha Spa. What can I say. You pay almost double compared to more basic massage places but it’s worth every penny! The location is super clean and beautiful, the most beautiful massage place I have seen so far in Asia. The rooms even have showers in for a nice refreshment afterwards. The massage itself was super super good, also best I had so far in Asia. The effort shows. You better make a reservation one or two days in advance to get your favorite time slot. I already booked my second appointment: YAAAAY!

    Professional therapist.
We both have tried many different spa/massage place in Lombok. For high-end ones at luxury resorts or hotels, no doubt they were all well trained therapist and followed all massage/spa etiquette. However, this Matcha Spa in Kuta, offers a similar professionalism (well trained therapist and no whispering or giggling between masseuse in between their massage sessions) with a more affordable price. Our tips: try to book in advance for availability and chat with the ladies which massage you'd like/need to take.

    Amazing. Highly recommended.
My experience at the Matcha Spa was amazing. The space is wonderful, very relaxing, they make you feel like heaven. The staff is very professional, I tried several treatments, a facial and a hot stone massage. Both were amazing. I will definitely come back when I am in Kuta-Lombok. The best spa in the area. Highly recommended.

    Terrible management
The first time I left the salon with such an ambivalent feeling: the massage is good, but the management (in the person of the manager who is always at the reception with the girls) is a nightmare. 1. Opening hours on the sign from 10 to 19-30. In fact, until 17-30. 2. When booking (be sure to leave a deposit), you must choose a time before closing, so that at least 45 minutes remain or take everything before closing. 3. They don't accept visas and cards in general. But you will find out about it at the time of payment, while the check is issued on demand and reminder. 4. When asked to use aloe vera instead of oil on the back - an additional charge of 80,000 rupees, with a massage price of 190,000. Total massage 270,000 per hour, but a little with aloe. 5. Peeling. The price list is 45 minutes… In fact, it was 30. I liked it very much, but you can take it all the time.

Expensive yet unable to deliver or justify the service
Had a massage with them, for 90 minutes, I have to say from the price point of view (double of other local massage) it is BAD. First the massage that they gave is very amateurish, it's all flat massage, there's no pressure point, no pulling of fingers and toes, and I have to tell the masseur 3 times to go soft..yet she still going hard. I did tell the manager at the beginning of the session to have a soft massage. Scrubs, they only scrubs easy to reach areas, while between fingers and toes, she didn't bother. The final straw was, there was no hot water!! Imagine paying double for service and product but not delivered, absolute shambles Eventually they only offer compensation of 20%, and only for my massage which is pathetic, but well I guess there are still tons of other customers fine with this treatments.

    Matcha spas
We had the 90mins massages on 3 different days- Traditional, Lomi lomi and Relaxation. The massages were really good, firm and hard, reaches the knots in your muscles. Tried the foot reflex too. Dont bother with it, not that great compared to the full body massage. Overall, Cheap and good place. Rooms a bit stuffy if you dont mind. Recep lady was just doing her job. Not welcoming, doesn't recommend anything and dont expect any small talk with her. I've been to many spas in various asia countries and there are much more welcoming reception. But if your objective is just to hv a good rub then this spa place is ok.

    Lovely oasis with super massage
My hotel recommended this spa when I had a sore neck and I was lucky enough to get a last min appointment. I am so glad I did it was wonderful! The masseuse was great good balance of getting my knots out and relaxation. From desk was really helpful and the tea after the massage was delicious. All very reasonably priced. Highly recommend it

    Good pain vs. bad pain
Me and my girlfriend stopped by during the day and booked a massage each for later in the evening. We asked for massage in the same room, or adjoining rooms, and were told this was possible. When we arrive four hours later for the scheduled time this is not granted as they've in the meantime booked another couple in it. This was not a big issue since a massage is mostly silent anyway. What was a big issue though was the proper manhandling and utter disregard for my physical anatomy. And the over-use of massage oil. When I left I had backpain(only for an hour or so), which I did not have when I entered. I've had a few massages on this trip in southeast Asia, and a dozen in total from earlier trips. This is the first one I did not enjoy at all. I've played hockey when I was younger, I've weighlifted for 10years, for the last two years I've run and skied Ultramarathons. I like to think I know the difference between good pain and the other kind. In the end: the Spa itself is very nice. And the two girls in the reception was much friendly and accommodating. And guess WHAT? My girlfriend said it was the BEST MASSAGE she's had during our whole trip!! Well I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles...

    Pretty spa
Firstly the positives... it’s a lovely environment with a nice relaxing spa feel. You need to book in advance as they get booked up for the day quite early. I have had regular massages for nearly 30 years... unfortunately I can’t report good things about my massage experience at Matcha. The therapist was clearly not trained. Used far too much oil so was unable to get any traction in her movements. Her hands were just gliding over my skin. No pressure point work or asking me where I needed work. To be fair I wasn’t expecting much but thought after reading so many rave reviews this might be a properly trained massage outfit. I’ll be going back to the cheap and cheerful place along from Kenza!

    Wonderfully Relaxing
Stopped by a couple of times to try the relaxation massage, traditional massage and a pedicure. My body feels amazing right now! Such a lovely and relaxing experience! Recommend to book first rather than hoping to walk in as it can get quite busy.

I went with my family and a 10 yo child (they have a mini me massage). Very impressed with quality of facility and the massage we received. Spa is well kept, extremely clean, beautiful, relaxing, private rooms, perfect temperature, professional staff. They’re nearly fully booked daily especially after 4p. Cash only. Massages run approx 180k IDR per hour. Other places (not as nice or sanitary) around charge $5 less but this place easily wins it all. Highly recommended!

Fantastic whole body massage. We went several times as a couple and solo. My partner and son found it completely relaxing after a day of surfing. Different styles of massage to choose from in a clean and modern setting. A professional and refreshing experience.
