Beautiful Merese Hill in Mandalika

It's very nice hills in the Mandalika area in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. From the hill you can see very beautiful view. The are inside the Mandalika complex, near the hills there are several virgin beach and also the circuit for Moto GP.

Sunset from a hill

Nice view. We were there one night at the weekend and it was very busy. The light after sunset was very nice. The sun sets behind a hill, not in the sea. Nearby is a beach with beds, can be combined well. Easily accessible for families, not with buggies or strollers. You can choose a place where you climb a bit more/less.

Oh the sunset

Head out to Merese in the evening to watch the sunset. It's absolutely stunning and great fun.

I saw three sunsets here and if I lived nearby would go every night!

Ensure you take it easy heading back to town, the road is dark and you may encounter a local in a bit of a rush.

To all the cheap skates complaining about the sub USD 1 parking fee, really? These folk make their living this way, stop being so precious.

Only stayed at Kuta for 1 night, bug go Merese Hill for 2 times!
Easy to get. Ride a motorbike if you're lazy. Need to pay 10,000 Rdp to park the motorbike. Then, only need a small effort to reach the top.
Love the view from the hill.

This was our last stop on our first day out in lombok, didnt expect it would be our best.

A little trek up the hill and you get some of the best views of lombok; blue seas, beaches, waves, and mountains.

There is a really nice cove at the base of the hill to jump in the sea or lay on the beach.

100% would recommend!

Took a short walk up the hill after spending some time at the beach. Didn't regret!! The view of the ocean & the surrounding beaches were great. Spend some time taking in the sights & taking pictures. Experience was wonderful!!

great view with super short hike

this was the first sight that our supir (a.k.a tour guide) brought us too. we were tired from our flight and the sight of hiking a hill was a little bit tiring to me. but since he said the view was awesome we (my husband,me and our two daughters 6 and 4 years old) took the hike up with was actually short and wasnt so hard. we were so glad that we did coz the view was so beautiful. mind you i wasnt wearing any hiking shoes but we were all in fitflops. even my children did not find it difficult to hike up. just be careful when you are descending because the sand may be a lil slippery. id suggest to bring a picnic basket and just spend a few hours there.

If you happen to be in lombok, set aside around 2 days to tour lombok tengah. You can book hotels near kuta beach and rent bikes to go around. For me, tanjung aan and merese hill are must-go places in lombok tengah. A little heads up: the road to reach there is bumpy and rocky. For you who have motion sickness, you might have to take some medications beforehand. Once you reach tanjung aan, you can opt to take a stroll around the beach. There is one swing exactly like in gili trawangan for you to take pictures on. There will be locals there that will offer you packages to go and visit 3 popular tourist attractions there which are batu payung, turtle stone and merese hill. After much negotiation, they offered us 450k for 7 person. The initial price is 100k per person. So do bring locals that you can trust there to negotiate the price. I would say tanjung aan offers stunning view along the way. There will be local kids that will offer you to take pictures there and their skills can be considered as quite excellent. They will instruct you on how to pose and stuffs. You can pay them as much as you want. Merese hill is really a great place for both the eyes and your instagram feeds. You can have a view overlooking the sea from up there. The hill is not really that high but for elderly and small kids, it is not recommended to hike up the hill. I did not get a chance to visit turtle stone as the tide is a bit high on my visit but overall, this place is a must-go wisata if you happen to be in lombok.
