One of the best beach i've visited so far, not the view but the overall experience i had. The first time i stepped on the sand, i was like "VERY SOFT". The area of the beach itself is very wide so it doesn't feels like too crowded. The famous thing about this beach is the giant rock with hole. I don't think you can swim here, because the wave is so big. It's cloudy on my visit, but i think it will be the best sunset spot!

You need an extra effort trekking down to reach the beach. The access is quite hard and rough, so be careful if you're travelling with children or older people. There'll be many locals children who will be your guide and help you to go through the trekking path, but they will ask for money when you're done going back to the top.

I gave him 15k, but he asked for 60k! Moreover There's not only one children but there's about 8 of them. I finally told them that i can't give more because i've paid with the entrance fee, which cost around 50k

When I went there its not good time cause it was in high tide. So when I went down the hills,I could hear the wave and saw crystal blue water.
Eventhough I cant go down to the beach and see big hole rock.
Becareful when you went down the hills cause its sandy and hard rock or you travelling with children or elderly people.
Fortunately I still can took picture from Tanjung Mareha,10mins near this beach by car.

Tips : Go to this beach before 8am or after 4pm so its low tide. But make sure you leave this area before getting dark cause local say this area dangerous when night time.

I came here during the day, and it's wrong. You should come here early in the morning before the tide or around 4-5 pm after the water decreased. The tide is high when i was here and i can't get down to the beach. 10-15 minutes walk the step hills. Please use mountain slippers as it's sandy and rocky way. This beach famous for its stone hole. I guess this beach also a perfect place to catch sunset.

But from what i heard from local people, tourist shd go from this area before it's dark because it might be dangerous. Please be carefull.

I took a picture of this beach from Tanjung Mareha, at the top of the hills, around 10 minutes drive from the beach.

The banana beach is great but the infrastructure doesn't support at all. First when a car is on site many looking angry people are approaching your car. When you put your car you have to go down 50 steep meters not advisable for elderly people. And your car is not safe there, I heard many bad news from the drivers. Government should do something about safety of visitors by socializing tourism

Wow! Such an exquisite and pristine beach....The moment you step on the beach you feel like paradise. The sand was white and so soft that I decided to take off my shoes, walked and explored the beach barefooted. Everything was perfect about the beach except for the nuisance of the locals who extorted money from the tourists.

We planned to see sunset in this beach which famous with its hole on the rocks. But sadly it was raining so the the path to go down was slippery n we can't go down the beach. We manage to have the view to the beach from a higher place. Things went wrong when it start raining hard n road was very slippery n our minibus was stuck. We are all wet, no phone signal, starving with no food in the middle of nowhere. This trip I will never forget for the rest of my life. So please, only go here on dry season.

love at the first sight!
Though we don't get the perfect sunset but the beach is really beautiful!!!! I will definitely come back if I go to Sumba.

Though it's kinda far from Tambolaka Airport and also not easy to reach the beach, Mbawana beach is a must visit beach!
